BRYAN AND REIGNS AT WRESTLEMANIA 31, WHY WWE NEEDS NXT AND MUCH MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-01-09 10:00:00
I like NXT. But isn't the point it to be for the wrestlers to prepare themselves for the big leagues? One can consider NXT now a league and there is no middle ground for talents to hone themselves. There is no room for mistakes and they are exposed to national TV already. Basically, it may not be fair to the talent if they aren't ready. And at the same time, why have NXT when you can just bring them up to the main roster if you're not going to treat NXT as a training ground?

NXT is a training ground, so guys can perfect their acts for television. They work on sharpening their tools at the Performance Center and they gain experience by performing in front of live crowds and TV cameras.

I alway hear about HHH taking over when Vince is done. But why him and not Stephanie? I would think it would be more her company than HHH.

They, unless something completely unexpected happens, will both be in charge, but for different aspects of the company, just as Linda and Vince McMahon were.

It's pretty obvious to me, and most viewers, that Roman Reigns is bad on the mic and struggles even in brief segments. I also think the fans will reject him if WWE pushes too hard and that's already starting. With that in mind and with Daniel Bryan's return, what would you do with Bryan and Reigns for Wrestlemania?

I don't think Roman is falling apart as much as you do, but it's obvious he's not as smooth on live interviews as he was in Shield segments where he was limited in what he said. I think with Reigns, it needs to be less is more. As far as what I would do with them, I've never been a huge fan of fantasy booking as things are always perfect on paper but can never be that perfect in execution. That said, I noted in the Elite section that I'd have Bryan be number one at the Royal Rumble and win (with Roman Reigns and Dolph Ziggler being the other final competitors) and challenge Brock Lesnar for the title. As far as Reigns, the idea of him having a final showdown against Seth Rollins or perhaps a three-way with Dean Ambrose sounds good to me. You could even really shock people by having it end with The Shield reuniting.

Over the last year I have been getting into Indy wrestling, and one thing I have noticed (other then the better in ring action) is the use of mouthpieces. Other than Kurt Angle (and it was part his gimmick) I have never saw one used in WWE or WCW and it is rare in TNA, Is it not allowed or do they use something less noticeable? Maybe I just never paid enough attention. It is a pretty cool effect when someone takes a shot to the head and their mouth guard goes flying

They are used by some talents but in most cases, they are done to add to the "believability" element of pro wrestling, especially on the independents where guys work so much harder and tighter in the ring.

At Survivor Series 1999 what was the reason for Stone Cold Steve Austin not competing in the The Rock vs Triple H vs Stone Cold Triple Threat Match? It would have quite possibly been one of the greatest matches of that era. Also (depending on the answer to the first question) why didn't they try to do it again? I am surprised this match never happened as all three were around at the same time for a long time.

Austin was pulled as he needed neck surgery.
