THE TIMING OF PUNK'S PODCAST, WILL AJ SUFFER THE FALLOUT, AUSTIN'S PODCAST WITH VINCE AND MORE

With CM Punk still having major star power. Being as white hot as he is especially due to the latest podcast interview. Do you think TNA will try to convince him to sign w/them? After listening to the interview, I can understand Punk being hostile but he has a chance to help TNA become something special. With jumping to a new network, his appearance might give TNA the shot in the arm it needs. I don't believe he is done with the business for good, just has a bad taste from the WWE. I personally think he gives TNA a chance to revamp their product and increase their business which is ultimately the best for business. Final question, how long before WWE screws over AJ?

Punk isn't going to work in the wrestling business anytime in the near future. He's pretty much laid out that he's moving on with his life and likes his freedom. He's not going to give that away to go work for TNA, for far less money than WWE was paying him to be miserable.

As far as AJ Lee, that is certainly a question a lot of people are asking. I hope beyond hope that we don't see anything that makes one believe she's being punished because that would be one of the stupidest moves the company could make. You don't squander one of your best assets in that division.

I think the timing of CM Punk dropping his podcast interview is interesting. Vince appearing on Austin's podcast was heavily promoted and known to air on the Monday after Thanksgiving. Do you think CM Punk purposely did his podcast to throw a monkey wrench to Vince's interview? Meaning, Punk knew he could alter the conversation of what people really wanted to hear from Vince with the current news.

I wouldn't be shocked to find out it was timed for a day when the rest of the wrestling industry was dark and if that was the case, it obviously was a genius move.

Is there anyone, other than Dixie Carter, who believes the cross-promotion with Bellator is a good idea? Frankly, I was embarrassed watching Rampage & Tito Ortiz on Impact. TNA needs to learn the lesson WCW taught us repeatedly about cross-promotion: it very, very rarely works and only with relevant, mainstream stars, not over-the-hill MMA fighters who can't act.

SpikeTV did, as they were footing the bill.

If the powers that be in WWE know and realize that their most successful period was in the attitude era, then why don't they just use that formula? I'm not saying use the same storylines with updated wrestlers, but use the strategy as a blueprint to reveal what currently is not working

You can't go back again. Plus, they are promoting directly to children and are maintaining a PG rating, which prevents them from the violence, blood, sexualism, etc. that were a hallmark of that era.

I watched the podcast with Steve Austin and Vince. Steve did ask all the right questions and Vince, as in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, did a little sidestep (just loved that song). I was disappointed that Steve did not follow up but figure Vince already laid the groundwork of what he would and would not say. It also appears Vince has select memory in telling that the entertainers, wrestlers, need to step up. I guess he had forgotten those that had that he had knocked back down and to say Cesaro wasn't there is really being misinformed or out of touch IMO. What was your take on the podcast.

I already wrote a long column with my thoughts, which you can find on the main page of the site. As far as Austin not following up, he was there as a podcaster trying to have an entertaining conversation, not as a journalist trying to dig deep into the craw of Vince McMahon. Austin picked his spots and especially when discussing Cesaro, he showed some of the flaws in Vince's thinking.
