HOW STING'S DEBUT CAME OFF LIVE, ZIGGLER COMMENTS ON HIS HUGE NIGHT, ORTON AND TONS MORE WWE NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2014-11-24 13:13:24

All live reports we've received indicate that the reaction to Sting last night was far crazier in St. Louis then it came across live on PPV.

Randy Orton was backstage and dressed to go last night. Originally, he was to return during the main event.

Dolph Ziggler, who was elevated to the top of WWE with his performance last night at Survivor Series (in a match you really should go out of you way to see), commented on the PPV via Twitter:

I heard raves about Mick Foley's performance last night in Brooklyn, NY, which was filmed by the WWE Network.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are on the cover of the new issue of "Muscle & Fitness."

Blue Meanie wrote on his Facebook page that the new ECW Unreleased DVD will feature Tommy Dreamer & Cactus Jack & The Pitbulls vs. Stevie Richards & Raven & Dudley Dudley & Big Dick Dudley from ECW Wrestlepalooza 1995. That's actually the match where Cactus turned on Dreamer and joined Raven's nest, kicking off the anti-hardcore promos that would become legend and lead to WWF hiring Foley as Mankind. Amazingly, Mick Foley didn't know that was the plan until Paul Heyman asked him if he would consider turning when Foley arrived at the ECW Arena that night. That turn was necessitated by Heyman needing a substitute for the late Chris Benoit when visa issues prevented Benoit from making the show and since it was built around 2 Cold Scorpio & Dean Malenko & Benoit vs. The Steiners & Eddy Guerrero, Heyman needed a substitute and Foley was the biggest "name". If ever there's proof that the biggest ripples come from the smallest decisions, this is it.

Scheduled for this week's WWE NXT:
*Finn Balor vs. Tyson Kidd in Balor's singles debut.
*Tyler Breeze vs. Marcus Louis.
*NXT Tag Team champions The Lucha Dragons vs. Jason Jordan & Tye Dillinger.
*Carmella vs. Blue Pants.
*Also appearing are Hideo Itami, Bayley, The Ascension, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Enzo Amore, Colin Cassady.

The Steve Austin statue from McFarlane Toys will be released with a piece of the ring apron from Wrestlemania X-7, which of course was headlined by Austin vs. The Rock for the WWF championship.

WrestlingDVDNews.com is reporting that the Monday Night War series will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray next year.

WWE will return to Trenton, NJ on 1/23/15 for a live event with tickets going on sale this weekend.

WWE has released a new Ryback t-shirt as well as new merchandise for Nikki and Brie Bella.

The latest "Canvas 2 Canvas" video, featuring wrestling artist Rob Schamberger (who gave us a great interview last week in the Elite section of PWInsider.com) is now online, featuring Schamberger's work on a new Randy Orton piece:
