LOW KI IN WWE, KING OF THE MOUNTAIN, BELLATOR TALENTS IN TNA AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2014-11-20 10:03:45
Since Jeff Jarrett was the self-proclaimed "King of the Mountain" & since he's no longer in TNA, do you think we'll ever see that match again?

While I don't think Jarrett being there or not will have anything to do with whether we see that match again, I personally hope we don't. In my mind, it was a stupid convoluted concept. Much like a reverse Battle Royal, it was an anti-climatic idea and I think it's best left in the past with dinosaurs and Stomper the Kangaroo.

For the past decade there have always been talents within ROH who seemed ear marked as the next guy to be plucked by WWE. Starting with CM punk, Cabana, Brian Danielson, Nigel McGuinnes, Hero, Castagnoli, Tyler Black, El Generico, and finally Kevin Steen. All with varying degrees of success. However, with the advent of Steen to wwe, that run of ear marked guys seems to have run out. No knock on ROH as their talent pool is deep. But WWE has already passed on the briscoes, cole, etc. Who do you see as the next obvious selection from ROH to WWE? Or has their run of next big stars stalled for the time being?

I don't think that in a talent pool of Adam Cole, Jay Briscoe, Mark Briscoe, Jay Lethal, ReDragon, etc. that you can't look up and down that roster and NOT think they have the potential to go to the next level. Plus, WWE may have passed on some of these talents but they also passed on Bryan Danielson a number of times over the years and he ended up in a Wrestlemania main event. You should never assume when it comes to pro wrestling.

With TNA being gone from Spike, does that mean no more plugs for Bellator? Speaking of which, are King Mo and Rampage Jackson done with TNA? I thought they had dual contracts.

You can pretty much believe the Bellator plugs are gone, beyond the occasional mention of Bobby Lashley's success there. My guess is that King Mo and Rampage Jackson will never be seen in a TNA ring again. Those experiments were pretty much a waste of time.

Why didn't WWE give Low Ki a push and chance to succeed when they had him after he won NXT Season 2?

At the end of the day, the belief among those I've spoken with is that Vince McMahon decreed that Low Ki wasn't going to be a success there, so he wasn't. There were some in creative who pushed for him to be used more as Kaval, but were shut down.

Why did they pair him with LayCool? Was the Low Ki/LayCool pairing a good thing or bad?

I think that was done for the same reason Daniel Bryan was put with The Miz in Season One of NXT - to take someone that had a reputation in certain circles and force him out of his safety zone. I actually thought Ki did a great job playing off of LayCool at the time.

Why does the Scottrade Center in Saint Louis, Missouri tends to host a WWE PPV every year (including the Survivor Series this Sunday) whereas cities like Seattle or Portland rarely host one? Is it because the Scottrade Center draws more fans than either KeyArena or Moda Center? Thanks!

I think it's probably because it's a lot easier for WWE to route their travel across three TV venues in the Mid-West then it would be for the Pacific Northwest.
