GIVING AWAY SURVIVOR SERIES, TNA CONTRACTS, MY SANITY AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2014-11-01 10:00:00
OK, I'm a WWE Network subscriber from day one, so if I cancel my subscription , can I rejoin and get November free?

I believe that offer is only being made to new, original subscribers.

While you're doing questions on TNA contracts, what about Samoa Joe, Garett Bischoff, and Rhino?

Rhino is not under contract and was never under contract during his most recent run. Samoa Joe is still under contract. No idea about Bischoff to be honest.

I remember hearing that one of the reason that Bruiser Brody never appeared in the WWF before he passed away is that Gorilla Monsoon had some kind of beef with him. Is that true or just a rumor?

There's been talk that the two didn't get along but I've never heard anyone state that was why Brody didn't work for WWF. By the late 1980s Monsoon was an employee, not an owner, so he would have done whatever was asked of him by Vince McMahon. You don't have to like someone to work with them.

Where's Brad Maddox????

Still under contract and waiting for WWE Creative to work him back into storylines.

I notice that if you follow a certain performer's name on Twitter after PWInsider has written a new story about them (great example is following Kevin Steen's name after you broke the news of his likely WWE ring name) you can see how quickly and widespread theft of your original content is. My question is how can you remain sane watching this? I can't imagine John Updike watching his latest book getting reprinted and stolen without trying to do something. So, what do you do?

Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do. Legally, it would cost more than we would receive back to chase after every single person. I don't see an attorney jumping in to say they would do all that work for free, either. It's just the way of the world and all we can do is hope enough people realize how hard an outlet like PWInsider works and supports us. It can be frustrating to see the work taken and printed elsewhere, especially when some of the stories and facts get changed and perverted, changing the story. As far as my sanity, I do my best to hold onto it. Some days are better than others!

How desperate is WWE to be giving away Survivor Series?

It's obvious they need to do something to get people's attentions and try to get them to convert into paying WWE subscribers. I don't blame them for trying. They might be really, really desperate, but given how many times they have stated they expected to lose money going into this venture, I don't think they truly are. I am sure they want business to be better but they had to assume they wouldn't be an overnight success. If they did, they surely are finding out how wrong they were.
