CHANGING THE RULES OF OWNING THE MITB BRIEFCASE, CAN THE IC TITLE BE RELEVANT AGAIN, DO MULTIPLE TITLE REIGNS MATTER AND MORE

This question is mainly for Dave. I've always agreed with a lot of your comments and opinions, however, this might be one of the only times I have to disagree. On the 9/16 Q&A (and I've read it in the past) how you don't want to see Seth Rollins win the WWE title in a cheap way. But what can you honestly expect? Rollins is a heel. The only way he can realistically cash in is when the champion is down. Unless he turns face while holding the briefcase, he's never going to cash in the RVD/Cena way. While I agree Taker beating Brock and Rollins cashing in is a bad idea, I have no problem Seth cashing in the cheap heel way since that's what he is. Personally, I think it would be different if every time Rollins tries to cash in Ambrose interferes and the MITB contract expires.

Why is that the only way? Why can’t he, for instance, see that the champion gets destroyed at a PPV and then declare at the end of the show he is cashing in tomorrow night on Raw? It’s a heel move to take advantage of a hurt champion, but it’s not ridiculous.

As far as I can tell….  There still hasn’t been an answer to a major question yet; What is the new pay structure for PPVs with the advent of the Network? What incentive does the talent have to work to the top of the card if there is no financial benefit? Am I incorrect in thinking this is a major, overlooked change in how wrestlers and the WWE do business?|

It is still an ongoing process. But what makes you want to work at the top? You make more money if you are a top guy. That simple.

I just read a response that Dave did in the Q&A Section where he said he wanted Rollins first title win coming off with him looking strong.  I have to question the idea of him winning the MITB briefcase then.  Whenever a heel wins MITB they are always booked as trying to sneak in the back door after a beat down on the champion, and this does anything but make him look strong.  The only time I can remember someone coming off strong from cashing in was when RVD let everyone know he was cashing in against Cena at the "ECW" PPV.  To make the briefcase holder look strong and confident, shouldn't at least a few of them call their shots?  Even if they lose, at least it doesn't come off as weak and cowardly.

I think so, yes. They should also do away with the “any time” BS. They should have the guy announce when he is cashing in, with at least say a half hour’s notice.

Back in the 90's and Attitude era, most guys who ended up becoming WWE champion had a good run with the intercontinental title first.  Do you think nowadays they should use this same tactic and push guys with the intercontinental belt before elevating them to main event/WWE championship level?  Or do you have no problem with them pushing young guys like Roman Reigns straight to the top, thus bypassing the IC title tier?

The problem has been that back in the day, there were only two Titles and the IC mattered. Then we had the World Title added to the mix and the IC belt lost its luster. If they stay with one top belt, it could get its luster back but right now, it’s just not there.

I agree that the idea of Flair vs Cena at this stage of Flair's career is pretty ridiculous, but it does raise an interesting topic.   With Cena still in the prime of his career, and the way McMahon likes to book him, I think it's inevitable that at some point (likely over the next several years), Cena will beat Flair's championship record.  Do you have a problem with this happening, and when it does, what is your ideal scenario?  I would have Cena break the record then use him as a transitional champion in order to really elevate the guy that beats him.

I honestly couldn’t care less, for two reasons. One, it’s a worked business not true competition. Two, they competed in different eras so it’s hard to compare. What means more, the years Bruno held the Title or the number of times that Cena has held it? To me, it’s the former.
