WHAT'S UP WITH RICOCHET AND EVOLVE, DGUSA UPDATE AND MORE NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2014-09-16 14:00:39
Since we've had a few people email us about his status with the company, Ricochet will be remaining with EVOLVE going forward. He has come to terms with Lucha Underground on a deal (which means that WWN released him) but he will be available to EVOLVE for any dates that don't conflict with LU tapings in Los Angeles or any LU dates where he's needed for PR purposes. Ricochet is portraying a different, masked personality for LU, Prince Puma. His departure to LU isn't seen as a major deal as he wasn't on all of the EVOLVE/DGUSA events due to his international commitments and this is seen as no different.

The WWN side and the Dragon Gate Japan office are trying to set up some DGUSA dates for later in the year but are having problems getting the schedules to match up. But, there has been some progress in that direction.

Gabe Sapolsky raved about Zack Sabre Jr.'s appearances over the weekend and noted he would be welcomed back to EVOLVE anytime.

The company tried a different formula this past weekend with more singles matches, no intermissions and more of an emphasis on technical, in-ring wrestling and they were happy with the results. I haven't see EVOLVE 34 yet but EVOLVE 35 was a dynamite show on iPPV.

The promotion should announce it's next dates soon once they have all the logistics worked out.

No major injuries from the weekend.

The promotion has released a great 20 minute highlight reel from EVOLVE 35, which is well worth checking out:
