CANCELING THE WWE NETWORK, WHY WWE DOESN'T ROCKET SOMEONE NEW TO THE TOP, RYBACK AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2014-07-03 10:00:00
After 2 years of a Ryback character that at once was booked pretty good as a face, then had a heel turn that was booked decently in the beginning, to pretty much being buried and becoming an afterthought, the guy is still pretty over.. I know they somewhat did this same kind of booking with Sheamus in a round-about way.. But, do you think it's time they give Ryback another chance at a babyface push? Also after being buried for a while and everything else, the fans still chant Goldberg at him quite strongly, I know the match would suck, but I almost just want to see a good 8-9 minute match with those 2 at a Mania.. It's like the fans chanting it at him for 2 years straight has made me want to see it.. Do you think it'd ever happen?

It's always possible he will end up with another push down the line, but there was a lot of heat on Ryback for being rough in the ring. I don't think it's time for him to get that push yet as to me, you can't argue that he deserves a top spot over any of the talents currently in that mix. Down the line? Perhaps.

Would you agree that the scene on Raw between Divas champion Paige and the surprise return of AJ Lee (Punk) which led to the surprise title match leading to AJ Lee defeating Paige for the belt a form of Deja Vu? Before then champion AJ Lee was in the ring speaking to the gathered throng when a young woman all in black appeared. One thing led to another and before you know a new Divas champion was crowned. Very similiar to what took place on Monday night on Raw. Deja Vu. Would you agree? Why the title change?

The entire point of the segment was AJ getting Paige back. Why the title change? They wanted Lee back and they wanted to kickstart her new storyline.

I get why Cena was a safe choice, but creative really can't come up with something else? How about this: as Cena is about to win, Lesnar comes out and helps Cesaro wins. Lesnar now can fight Cena at SS AND a new champion. Plus, that could set up a turn on Cesaro down the road at Royal Rumble and Lesnar winning the strap then so he can main event WM. I know if booking were easy than anyone could do it, but their idea .is tired and stale. Why can't they come up with something other than Cena and Orton?

It's an interesting idea but I don't believe that WWE sees Cesaro at the top-tier level yet although they are obviously trying to build him in that direction. As far as why they can't come up with anything beyond Cena and Orton, the reality is that they see them as guys they can count on to be top names and draw money - and unless Brock Lesnar is going to work full-time or CM Punk is coming back anytime soon, everyone else is bubbling underneath, until WWE decides to bring someone up to their level.

I am at a loss of words over the WWE's decision to have Cena win the belt again. I immediately logged into my WWE Network account and canceled my subscription. I would have rather even Kane win the belt if they weren't going to strap the rocket to Reigns yet than have the same old same old again. I have supported the WWE because it is pro wrestling's biggest company and have bought every pay-per-view in my 20 years as a WWE Fan no matter how bad it got. For the first time since I can remember, I was excited that we were going to have new blood on top. I have now completely pulled myslelf away from ever buying anything WWE related again. I hope TNA continues the good trend and from I see, the NYC tapings went pretty good. Now that I have my rant out of the way, do you guys see more subscriptions being cancelled to the WWE Network?

It's possible. It really depends on if other fans feel the same as you or whether the $9.99 for access to older and unique original content overrides their unhappiness with the current PPV product. I think it's a question we won't know for many, many, many months to come.
