WHY DID WWE STILL DO 100K ON PPV, IS THE BUSINESS ON AN UPSWING, KURRGAN AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2014-06-27 11:00:05
Jeff Jarrett is starting a company and says wrestling is on an up swing, but WWE and TNA cutting people and ratings are down, so which do you think is happening? Upswing or downswing?

I don't think the business is in a downswing but I think that the top companies have made a lot of changes in order make their own businesses more healthy. When I see all the talent that is out there and all the quality indy companies, I don't think the business is hurting - it's just more fragmented.

Has anyone who's in the WCW Hall of Fame, not gone in the WWE Hall of Fame? If so do you think they will get in?

There are a few, including Lou Thesz and Angelo Poffo. I've said for years WWE should absorb and adopt the WCW Hall of Famers as their own, since it's just a select few who aren't in.

Whatever happened to Kurrgan?

He moved on to acting and has appeared in a ton of films and will be playing the lead villain in the new F/X series "The Strain" this summer.

Man do I miss the original Summerslam and Survivor Series logos. Just looked at my video collection, and I know things have to move on, but for old times sake, maybe they could use them for an anniversary or something?

That's a cool idea. I could see WWE doing it at some point.

I just saw that 100,000 people purchased Extreme Rules on PPV. Can they be so stupid not to get what the WWE Network is?

No, That number included Canada, where the Network doesn't exist yet. 67,000 were international viewers, and they cannot order the Network. For the rest, it's possible some people just want to watch the show via traditional means because they haven't embraced the technology.
