MSG WWE TAPINGS, WRESTLER SPONSORSHIPS ON THE NETWORK, DELIRIOUS AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2014-06-07 10:00:00
In the wake of the PPV bonuses for talent being cut due to the WWE Network streaming the pay-per-views now, has the WWE considered how they would maybe offset some of the losses the talent has suffered since? Just brainstorming here, but what if WWE can negotiate some deals w sponsors that would have talents wear their shirts or logos on their attire? (Kind of like what UFC does w many of their fighters), or a great example is Brock Lesnar & Jimmy Johns. Do you think this could work for the WWE?

While I do believe that product placement will be a big part of advertising on the Network, I don't think they will have wrestler sponsors.

HHH is pretty internet savvy and not as likely to panic jump as Vince was/is. Any chance Rollins is a swerve, ie Undercover Agent for the shield. I can't believe WWE would leave all the money on the table that a summer full of Shield vs. Wyatts would bring.

Anything is possible when they are writing week to week, but I don't see it in this case.

At ROH tonight, why did Delirious decide to wrestle all of the sudden?

I believe it was just a one-off appearance, probably because they needed an extra hand on the show.

Why does MSG seem to never get a raw or PPV taping anymore?

Several reasons. One is the WWE schedule only allows for so many tapings a year. Two is that the Barclays Center in Brooklyn opened and it's far cheaper to run that facility.

Is the Matt Striker from WWE the same Striker that was in ROH?

While the WWE Striker made appearances in ROH a few times, the one who worked there regularly was a Les Thatcher trainee from Ohio, as opposed to the WWE Striker who is from New York.
