Josh Mathews welcomes everyone to the Hard Rock Café and the press conference. He mentions the press conference is a few moments away from starting. Randy Orton, Batista, Triple H, Daniel Bryan, Stephanie McMahon, and more will talk to the people in attendance and watching on the Network.
Josh brings in two of the participants in the Vickie Guerrero Invitational on Sunday, Brie and Nikki Bella.
Josh asks if that means that there will be a new champion.
Nikki says that they both agree that there will be a new champion but they disagree on who the champion will be.
Brie says that they have been practicing for this.
Josh asks them about whether they will focus on Summer Rae instead of the champion because of Total Divas.
Brie says that she might get a shot in on Summer if the opportunity presents itself.
Josh asks Brie if she thinks that Daniel will be the WWE Champion on Sunday. She says that with what has happened, history has been made. She says that everyone wants to see Daniel win the title.
Josh asks about Nikki’s boyfriend, John Cena, and his match against Bray Wyatt.
She says that John has been motivated and has been training hard for this match. He crept up on the creepiest people on TV. She says that we will see something different from John.
Josh asks if the John Cena we see on Raw and Smackdown is the same John Cena behind the scenes.
Nikki says that John is the same in and out of the ring and that is why he is the face of the WWE. He is real and authentic.
Josh mentions that there was an ‘occupation’ of Times Square by the WWE Universe.
Brie says that Daniel is so humble and does not realize what is about to happen. It has been so organic and the people have connected with Daniel in a way that no one has been able to connect with in a long time.
Josh mentions that you could feel the energy from Daniel when he showed up on Backstage Pass.
Summer Rae joins Josh and the Bellas and she claims she did not hear what Brie was saying before. She says that Brie has forgiven, but she has not forgotten.
Josh asks Summer if she thinks she can be Divas Champion.
Summer says that everyone wants to be Divas Champion and there will be some stiff competition. With it being first pinfall, who knows what will happen.
Brie asks Josh which Bella would be the better Divas Champion.
Josh remembers the days of a Co-Divas Champion to try to deflect any barbs.
Josh’s next guest before the press conference begins is Mark Henry. He asks Mark what he is looking for during the week.
Mark mentions Axxess and he enjoys seeing his kids play and interact with other kids.
Josh asks Mark about the battle royal and how prestigious it is.
Mark says that Andre’s name makes it prestigious and he is the only person in the match who touched Andre. He grew up as a fan of Andre the Giant.
Michael Cole takes over as the Master of Ceremonies.
Michael talks about Wrestlemania 29 and how it meant $100 million for the New York/New Jersey community. There are other social events that can benefit the community.
Michael introduces the Chief Branding Officer Stephanie McMahon.
Stephanie thanks everyone for joining WWE to celebrate 30 years of Wrestlemania. She mentions that Wrestlemania was her father’s idea to mix pop culture with the greatest event in Madison Square Garden.
Stephanie mentions that she was able to watch her friend Andre the Giant slam Big John Studd. She saw Hulk Hogan and Mr. T defeat Paul Orndorff and Roddy Piper. She got to see people with smiles on their faces in the Garden.
Wrestlemania 30 will be available on all cable and satellite platforms as well as the WWE Network. This is the way to bridge the generational gap of the fans. The WWE is dedicated to providing compelling entertainment as well as putting smiles on the people’s faces.
There will be visits to hospitals, anti-bullying events, and the Wrestlemania Reading events. They will be raising money for Drew Brees’ charities as well as the Boys and Girls Club. Stephanie talks about being able to give back to children and families with these events and other appearances. The Divas and Superstars are the greatest entertainers on the planet and you will see that on Sunday at Wrestlemania 30.
Michael Cole introduces the man who main evented one third of the Wrestlemanias, including the first one in Madison Square Garden . . . Hulk Hogan.
Hogan wants to know what is up and he says that it is so good to be here. When you think about Wrestlemania, it started in this city. To be back in here and to be back home for Wrestlemania 30 to kick off Wrestlemania Week, it is the cat’s meow to him.
It is about the spectacle, the drama, and the glory. Just like when he picked up the Giant and slammed him at Wrestlemania 3. It is also about the future. We will get to live this day forever. As the host of Wrestlemania 30, this is all happening on the WWE Network.
Hogan wants to know What Ya Gonna Do and he has been asking it for 30 years.
The next person to speak is an executive and superstar who will face Daniel Bryan and possibly wrestle for the WWE World Title. . . Paul “Triple H†Levesque.
Paul thanks everyone for coming today and he mentions that the crowd is a bit more subdued than usual. He jokes about what he can do if Hogan couldn’t get them riled up.
Paul says that he wears a number of hats, but most of all, he is a fan with a dream. A dream to be a part of the WWE. You hear the company talk about Then, Now, and Forever. Then, he would watch wrestling in his PJs on his local television station. Now, the company has a reach of 650 million homes. They average 15 million viewers a week and have almost 300 million social media followers.
Wrestlemania has become a milestone. It started as the dream of one man, but now it is the dream of every superstar. It also holds the dreams of the fans. Many who hope to be able to travel to view Wrestlemania. The platform to greatness starts at NXT. It is where careers are molded. Paul says that you can watch NXT on the WWE Network. For people like the Wyatts, Shield, and Big E Langston, who were in NXT a few years ago, they are able to live their dreams and will be main eventing Wrestlemania.
A whole new crop of NXT Superstars will make their way to New Orleans to participate in Wrestlemania Week. They will participate at Axxess and participate in the CVR events. They will also observe Wrestlemania. The Wrestlemania week events will be on the Network.
Axxess will have footage on the Network as well as the Hall of Fame and Wrestlemania itself. The show will be available on cable and satellite providers.
Paul mentions that all pay per views as well as the material available on the Network.
Then it was on regional television. Now it is a global phenomenon. These moments will live forever.
Paul says that he will put his talent hat on now because no one exemplifies making it to the top to become the WWE Champion than Daniel Bryan. That dream is put out there every week with the Yes Movement. The WWE Universe is a part of Daniel Bryan’s dream to headline Wrestlemania.
Unfortunately, that dream intersects with his and that dream will end. Daniel had a dream then. Now he will headline Wrestlemania 30 by stepping into the ring with The Game. Only The Game is forever.
The next person will be facing Triple H at Wrestlemania and if he wins that match, he will join Randy Orton and Batista in the WWE World Championship Match. He is the leader of the Yes Movement which has been seen all over the world. . . Daniel Bryan.
Daniel comments on how the press isn’t sure of what to do when he comes out. Triple H talked about dreams. These dreams are not what you think about when you sleep, but what you think about before you go to sleep. As a child, all he wished for was to be a wrestler. He wished to be the best. He wanted to headline Wrestlemania. Now that wish is here . . . if he can beat Triple H.
That is not an easy task because Triple H hates him as a business man. Daniel says that he doesn’t normally dress in a suit and when he is in a suit, he looks funny. He is not here because of Triple H or the Authority. He is here because of the People and the Yes Movement. The people would not be denied.
The people have more power than they think. Everyone has power. There are 14,000 people in the arena and they have more power than the 3 people in the back. The 70,000 people in New Orleans will have more power than the people in the back. On Sunday, he will get to live what he wished for as a kid.
Daniel asks everyone if he can do it and he says YES
The next speaker is the man who will be in the Main Event at Wrestlemania and he will be in the Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy.
Batista takes the notes that he was supposed to talk about and he calls it garbage and he says the person should be fired . . . unless it is Stephanie.
Batista says that he doesn’t like being at these events. He says that he feels bad for Daniel Bryan because he looked funny in the suit and then nobody was chanting Yes with him.
Batista says that he had some time between movies so he figured that he would come back and become the WWE Champion. Batista comments on the Bootista and skinny jean comments and he says that his jeans have a Twitter account.
He did not want to leave the WWE but he had some things he wanted to accomplish. He loves the WWE and being a part of Wrestlemania 30 is more special than he can explain. Being in the main event is special and to become the WWE Champion is something he wanted. He does not like that it is a Triple Threat match. He says this is the last time you will see him not as the WWE World Champion.
The next person to speak is the other person who is guaranteed to be in the main event at Wrestlemania 30 . . . the WWE World Champion Randy Orton.
Randy says that Cole forgot to mention that he is the face of the WWE. He is the hand picked person to represent the company and no man can stop him. Not Daniel Bryan, Batista, or even Triple H. The Triple Threat match provides a challenge but he has handled challenges like this before.
Randy says that not only will he defend his title, he will retain it and more people are coming from around the world than any other Wrestlemania.
Randy says that he will see everyone at Wrestlemania.
They bring out Batista, Daniel Bryan, and Triple H to join Randy for a photo opportunity.
Triple H and Daniel Bryan stare each other down while Orton and Batista go backstage.
Hunter has some words for Daniel while Daniel does the ‘Yes’.
The next person to speak is one of the biggest stars in WWE History. He will participate in his tenth Wrestlemania when he faces Bray Wyatt . . . John Cena.
John thanks the members of the WWE Universe and the media for showing up. He says that he has been thinking of what to say that has not been said already, including the amazing spoken word of Batista.
John says that he was with Hulk Hogan this morning and he says that it was a feeling that Hogan has probably had for 30 years. Wherever he goes, people’s faces light up. Someone who was at Wrestlemania 3 came up to Hogan and hugged him. Hogan thanked the man. The person told Hogan that HE WAS THERE. John mentions the smile on that fan’s face and the memory he had was 27 years old. Wrestlemania is about being there.
WWE puts on a spectacle and gala so every person who puts their eyes on Wrestlemania and can say that they were there. Those memories can last more than 20 years.
Wrestlemania 30 is so revolutionary because it gives the people more chances to say you were there. For Wrestlemania 1, you had to be in the Garden or a movie theater. Wrestlemania 3 through last year, you could watch it on pay per view at home. This year, you can say that you were there while on the subway or in a cab. This event is 30 years old, but it is one of a kind. It is poetic justice that at Wrestlemania 30, we honor and appreciate our past with Hall of Famers like Hulk Hogan. The card is one for the ages.
The Superstars look forward to their futures. Wrestlemania is 30 years old, but Sunday’s event is revolutionary.
John says that he has one question . . . Where are you going to be when you say ‘I will be there’.
All of the people come to the stage for a photo opportunity.
In addition to the people who spoke to the media, The Great Khali, Mark Henry, Cameron, Naomi, Alberto Del Rio, Big Show, Summer Rae, Eva Marie, and Natalya come on stage.
