THE ONE RAW WWE NETWORK SHOULD NEVER AIR, THE XFL, PAIGE VS. AJ AT WRESTLEMANIA AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2014-03-29 10:00:00
I'm wondering if once that the WWE Network put every single RAW and SmackDown, will they put Owen Hart RAW tribute, Eddie Guerrero's RAW and SmackDown tribute shows and the RAW show with no people in the arena and just Vince McMahon in the ring with clips of the other wrestlers remembering Chris Benoit on RAW?

My feeling on this is that we'll see all of the tribute shows except for the Chris Benoit episode. I really don't see WWE airing a tribute show where they talk about what a great family man he was, for obvious reasons. They could edit it, but really, the entire show would showcase the worst thing to ever happen in the pro wrestling world, so I think it's best to skip that episode like it never happened.

Why are they inducting Razor Ramon and not Scott hall? Yes I know they are the same but its like WWE doesn't want to acknowledge his before and after WWE run and he was such a big part of the NWO. Is that the WWE's intention?

I think WWE is inducting the character, honestly, because it was the highlight of his career for them. Plus, let's face it, Scott Hall the person has had a lot of issues over the years and WWE may feel it's better to celebrate the character, which could insulate them should something negative happen down the line.

I really want to see a match between Sting and Taker for Wrestlemania 31, if it does happen how do you think the match should be booked?

Tombstone,1-2-3.

Why doesn't the WWE do Paige vs AJ at Wrestlemania instead of this diva battle royale. They could have built it up as Paige claiming she was better than AJ and that she should be on the main roster etc. AJ then finally has enough and gives her the opportunity to face her. The title doesn?t even have to be on the line as both girls just want to prove they are the best champion for their brand.

Paige isn't even on the main roster. It would make no sense to give her a singles match on the biggest show of the year. I am a big fan of her work, but she's still young. Give her time to develop, as opposed to being rushed up to the main roster where she has the hazard of peaking early. There's obviously something special to her but as they say, you only get one chance at a first impression.

What was the process of the XFL becoming a thing? Were there high hopes for it succeeding?

There's a great book about the rise and fall of the XFL titled "The Longest Bomb" but the basic story is that Vince McMahon and Dick Ebersol thought it would be a great thing to appeal to football fans once the NFL season was over to give them football. They had a huge rating for the first night of the season but the game they aired sucked and they never recovered. The audience each week dropped and a big part of the sports media dismissed the league because WWE owned it to begin with, so by the time the season ended, the League had no real chance of success. Had WWE been able to get a TV partner after NBC dropped out, I have no doubt they would have continued on for at least another season.
