WRESTLEMANIA ON PPV UPDATES

By Mike Johnson on 2014-03-20 10:29:30
In regard to Wrestlemania being carried on traditional PPV platforms, here is where things stand.

The Dish Network announced they would not carry Wrestlemania 30 due to the WWE Network:

Below is the new statement that Dish Network sent out confirming that they will not be carrying WWE's WrestleMania XXX pay-per-view:

"Please note that WWE is not willing to adjust PPV costs to satellite/cable companies, which is unfair to their customers. DISH needs to re-focus efforts to support partners that better serve DISH customers and other satellite/cable companies, including DirecTV, have also expressed they may no longer provide WWE PPV events in the future."

In checking with DirecTV today, I am told they are carrying Wrestlemania but beyond that, nothing is set in stone.

As we've noted in the Elite section, we have also heard that InDemand PPV is looking at potential alternatives should they pull the plug on carrying WWE events as well, but will be carrying Wrestlemania 30.
