WWE NETWORK AND DVD UPDATES, NXT TAPING TONIGHT, RAW'S NEW COMPETITION ISN'T GOING AWAY ANYTIME SOON AND LOTS MORE NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2014-03-13 08:42:48
We noted yesterday that CBS has strongly hinted they were moving “Big Bang Theory” to Mondays this Fall. Well, the network announced today the show, which is the top comedy, has been renewed for an additional three years.

WWE will be taping NXT tonight at Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL. If anyone is attending the taping, we are seeking spoiler reports. Thanks!

WWE ran an angle on their website yesterday where Triple H, upset over the Daniel Bryan storyline, “no showed” his weekly sit-down interview with Michael Cole.

Set for tonight’s WWE Superstars on the WWE Network is Alberto Del Rio vs. Sin Cara and Dolph Ziggler vs. Fandango.

WWE will be releasing a new Batista DVD “Animal Unleashed” on 6/10. They are probably timing that so it’s out the same time as Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy”, which will be released theatrically the same month and feature Batista as Drax the Destroyer. The set will feature a documentary on Batista’s return to the company as well as matches.

WWE will also be releasing their WWE Studios films packaged together. Plans call for a Triple H set (Inside Out and The Chaperone), a John Cena set (Legendary and The Reunion), a Family set (Legendary, Knucklehead and The Chaperone), a Drama set (That’s What I Am and Legendary), a Comedy set (Bending the Rules, Knucklehead, Chaperone) and an Action set (Inside Out, The Reunion, Bending the Rules and No Holds Barred). The sets will be released in early June.

There are also plans for a No Holds Barred blu-ray release, featuring the film and several of the Zeus matches from WWF storylines as extras. I can’t even begin to tell you how many emails we’ve received complaining the No Holds Barred: The Match/The Movie PPV isn’t on the WWE Network, so this news will make some fans happy.

The WWE Network issued the following: "Sony Playstation 3 users may be experiencing an issue with the schedule on WWE Network. Following the daylight savings time change on Sunday, March 9, the WWE Network schedule on PS3 is listing shows one hour behind the actual air time. Although the schedule is one hour off, all live programming is airing at the correct times. You will see this issue resolved within the next few days. Thank you for your patience."

The PPV section of the WWE Network added years for 1993 and 1994 for ECW several days ago. The sections are currently blank but it appears there may be plans to put up some of the old ECW Home Videos of ECW Arena events in that section. If they add those events and the home videos from 1995-1997, that would be a lot of really great, quality content on the Network that is worth the $10 price tag alone.

There have also been new years added to WWE PPVs on the Network – 1971, 1977 and 1981, but they are also blank. No word yet as to what events these might be, but the years wouldn’t match up with WWF’s Shea Stadium events, which are the only events that one would think could match a “PPV” level event.
