By Mike Johnson on 2014-02-15 17:39:21
PWInsider will have live, ongoing coverage of The New York Wrestling Connection's the 2014 Psycho Circus event tonight in Deer Park, Long Island at the NYWC Sportatorium!

Welcome to PWInsider.com's NYWC Psycho Circus 2014 coverage from the Sportatorium in Deer Park, Long Island.  Despite yet another snowstorm locally, they have a sellout crowd of about 600.

They opened the show with a video promoting the Circus main event and the 20th anniversary of Mikey Whipwreck's career.

NYWC Commissioner Vitko came to the ring.     He welcomed all the fans and thanked then for coming out in the crazy weather.  He said that last month, they didn't get the job done.  He said they were supposed to have a definitive answer on who would have the advantage in the Circus.  He said he could pick who he wants, he could ask the fans or they will flip a coin.  He said they are going to flip a coin and called Mike Mondo to come out.

Mondo made his way to the ring.   Vitko then called out Mikey Whipwreck, who came out.  Mikey took the mic and said that what they need to do is really important, so they need do more than just flip a coin.  He suggested something more hardcore and extreme.  Mikey asked for a referee to come out and one did.

Mikey said they were going to do an old ECW favorite, rock, paper, scissors.  When they went to do it, Mikey kicked Mondo and nailed him with a Whippersnapper.  Vitko declared that Mondo's fists were closed so he did rock and Mikey made scissors when he did his trademark symbol, so Mondo has the advantage.  OK, that was pretty lame.

They brought out Larry Legends as the co-host of the night.  Huge pop for Legend.

Joker's Wild Battle Royal

The winner gets to pick a title match of their choice for a later date.

There were only ten men so they called out four women to work and Larry Legend became the final man in the ring.   Legend and the women were the first eliminated.

Everyone battled back and forth.   It came down to JT Kasin and Jablani.  Jablani caught him with a hard dropkick in the corner.  Kasin missed a right hand and Jablani tossed him over and won.

Your winner, Jablani!

Alvin Alvarez vs. Grimm Reefer

They locked up and Reefer grabbed a side headlock.  Alvarez sent him into the ropes and shoulderblocked Reefer down, enforcing his will.  Reefer went to the floor to slow his momentum and returned, grabbing another side headlock.  He was sent off into the ropes but this time, attempted a sunset flip.  Alvarez blocked it and picked him up by his neck, then flung Reefer across the mat, where he slid out under the ropes and crashed into the guard rail.

Alvarez followed him to the floor and chopped him hard against the railing.   Alvarez came off the ropes but Reefer ducked. Alvarez caught him with a kick to the mid-section and a hard shot into the buckles that busted Reefer's nose up.

Reefer fought back with a series of chops and went for a springboard swanton, but Alvarez pulled his knees up.  He grabbed Reefer and nailed a sitdown powerbomb for a two count.   Alvarez went for a suplex but Reefer turned it into a neckbreaker, sort of.  Both men were counted down but fought to return to their feet.

Reefer exploded with offense, hitting a bunch of chops and hard shots.  He covered Alvarez for a two count.  Reefer nailed a frog splash off the top for a two count.   Alvarez avoided a charge in the corner but took too long to follow up and was kicked off by Reefer. Reefer went for a bodypress.  Alvarez tried to catch him but slipped, then recovered and nailed a uranage.

Alvarez continued to fight off Reefer but was caught in the Crossface.  He battled to the ropes to break the move.  Reefer charged him but was nailed with a Uranage.  Alvarez went to the top for a moonsault but missed.  Reefer caught him with another Crossface and made Alvarez tap.

Your winner, Grimm Reefer!

Reefer says that Alvarez wanted this match to make his name and he may not have done that but he earned Reefer's respect.  They shook hands.

OK match.  Reefer seemed off once he busted his face hard into the buckles, so I was wondering if he got a concussion.

J-Ro vs. Chris Spark

Ro went right after him but wass caught in the corner with a series of shoulderblocks and a belly to belly suplex for a two count.   He went for a dive but Ro nailed him as he hit the ropes.  Ro killed it with a springboard dropkick for a two count.

Sparks mounted a comeback but was cut off with a running knee to the mid-section and then a hard kick to the back for a two count.  Ro nailed a running dropkick in the corner, then nailed a running knee to the face.  He snapmared him over and locked in a chinlock.   He locked in a sleeper but turned Chance to the ropes, where he was able to grab it.

Ro slammed him down and went for a springboard move but was caught and hit with an overhead belly to belly suplex.   He blocked several shots from Ro and nailed a running clothesline.  He hit a running boot to the mid section for a two count.

They battled back and forth until Ro nailed a leg lariat for a two count.   Sparks made a comeback with a clothesline for a near fall.  He nailed a powerbomb for a two count.  Sparks missed a kick and Ro nailed a KO kick to the head, then hit a Michinoku Driver for the pin.

Your winner, J-Ro!

Good back and forth match.
