THE BEST & WORST WRESTLEMANIA VENUES, GATOR-MAN, TNA LIVE AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2013-07-06 10:00:57
I seem to remember a Gator-Man growing up. Who was this?

I don't ever recall anyone by that name but you could be thinking of Skinner,a WWF personality played by Steve Keirn in the early 1990s.

What was the best and worst Wrestlemania venues?

The best in my mind, throwing out Madiosn Square Garden since that's my favorite venue, had to have been the Houston Astrodome. I have written about this many times over the years but that venue was like magic that night. The sheer magnitude of the crowd and the production was amazing. The worst, by far, was Wrestlemania 11. The Hartford Civic Center, as a venue, was like entering a mall to hell.

I saw Mike mentioned on Twitter he was at the U.S.S Intrepid when Lex Luger slammed Yokozuna- WHY? Didn't he have anything better to do on the 4th of July?

Why was I there? I was a 18 year old wrestling fan at the time. It was first thing in the morning, so I went to the show and then went to a BBQ after. Why do YOU care?!

It seems like TNA's live events are more about selling autographs and photos than actual wrestling. Why is that?

TNA's events are unique and sort of remind me of a convention as much as a traditional house show. They are designed that way as a way to generate revenue, which is all any show should be designed to do. At the end of the day, money is money. Having been to a number of events, I don't think the wrestling end suffers on most shows.

When is Sinclair Broadcasting going to put ROH on in the Northeast?

Well, it's on in some markets but unless the company signs a deal to start syndicating the show outside of stations they own, not anytime soon. Your best bet is to watch it via the ROHWrestling.com website.
