HOW WWE ACQUIRED THE ORIGINAL WWWF TITLE BELT, ZIGGLER REACTS TO BROTHER BEING RELEASED AND MORE

WWE.com has an interview with WWE archivist Ben Brown, about how he went about acquiring the original WWWF title from Dave Millican, who got it after it was discovered in Johnny Barend's attic. He mentioned that Millican wanted "one of a kind" WWE memorabilia in exchange for the title. When asked why was a belt belonging to Buddy Rogers was recognized as the WWE title, he said "The story is that the National Wrestling Alliance had put the NWA Title on Verne Gagne. Vince didn’t think that Verne would draw money in the Northeast territory, so he split off from the NWA and promoted his own champion in Buddy Rogers, who he thought would be a better headliner for that area." Gagne was never NWA champion. It was actually Lou Thesz he was speaking of. In the end, WWE removed that portion of the interview from their website, but you can read the discussion at this link.

Dolph Ziggler wrote the following on his twitter: "countless @wwe peeps personally told me how hard @HotYoungBriley worked & how he was the most entertaining guy in NXT #WeirdBiz"
