WWE SIGNING TAZ PROTEGE AND MORE

Northeast independent wrestler and Taz protege Smith James announced via Twitter, "The next 2 months will be my last indy shows for the foreseeable future (hopefully longer) as I was offered a WWE developmental contract."

James credited former ECW World champion Taz's training with making it possible for him to get signed as James went to Taz's finishing school in Long Island.

Taz responded to the news, writing, "official congrats to a future player in WWE, @BigGameJames12 pleasure training u & pleasure being friends with u! Kick ass bro!"

Matt Bennett, who broke into the business for Jersey All Pro Wrestling, has also been signed to a WWE deal and reported to developmental this week. He's a really, really good referee.
