EXILED WRITER RETURNS, WWE LEGEND TAKES ISSUE WITH PUNK, WWE APP AND MORE WWE NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2013-01-09 14:49:31
As we discussed in the PWInsider.com Elite section, Brian Gewirtz was at Raw working with Dwayne Johnson on his material for his TV return. Gewirtzhas been working as a consultant since he was removed as the VP of Creative Writing.

The talk of the Smackdown taping among wrestlers was how good CM Punk's promo on Raw was.

Of all people, Superstar Graham was upset about CM Punk's remark that Bruno Sammartino only wrestled once a month in Madison Square Garden. That's like Roddy Piper being mad Punk said Hulk Hogan didn't work TLC matches. Unless it was Graham trying to get some attention for himself (which he has, with Chris Jericho and Paul Heyman both responding via Twitter), he comes off pretty silly.

Mick Foley was interviewed about his comedy dates in Kansas City this weekend and his potential WWE Hall of Fame induction in April at this link.

The Headbangers were backstage at WWE TV this week.

WWE is going to be taking a look at a number of potential new talents in Florida next month.

Variety had a really good piece on WWE's second screen technology app and why the company is trying to build it as a way to offset smaller audiences in today's market. I actually used the app while watching Raw for the first time and it works really well in that it continues the action during commercial breaks and gives you some additional interviews, similar to what TNA does on Youtube.com. You can read the piece by clicking here. Thanks to Marcos for passing along the link.

Big week for WWE developmental. Dolph Ziggler, AJ Lee and Big E. Langston will appear at tonight's WWE NXT in Kissimmee, FL. NXT will tape TV tomorrow in Winter Park, FL. On 1/11 they will be in Punta Gorda at the Charlotte Harbor Event Center. On 1/12 NXT will run the St. Augustine-St. Joseph Catholic High School as Fundraiser in St. Augustine, FL (awesome city). If anyone is attending any of this shows, we are seeking reports.
