As I discussed on the Raw Post Game show in the Elite section, WWE spaced out Ric Flair's return on Raw over several segments in an attempt to pop a nice rating for those segments. They purposely leaked Flair's voice in the segment before he gave away the Superstar of the Year Slammy hoping to get the word out via social media and word of mouth. Flair has not signed a contract but is open and willing to do anything WWE wants to do.
As for those of you who are undoubtedly going to ask about the status of the TNA lawsuit against WWE, there's been no movement on it within the courts since August 20th. Although there seems to be this assumption that the lawsuit would prevent WWE from hiring talents that worked for TNA, there is no standing order that would hold up any potential hirings. The only restraining order currently is against former TNA and WWE office worker Brian Wittenstein.
Boogeyman was booked as a one shot deal to surprise people and play into the "Tell Me I Didn't Just See That" award. The story making the rounds is that someone made a reference to him while in conversation to Vince McMahon a few weeks ago and the light bulb went off that they should use him.
Tommy Dreamer was a late addition to Raw as the early scripts for the show did not feature him at all. The company contacted Dreamer late in the afternoon about appearing and he drove up from New York City. There's interest in using him again, but there always was as they didn't want him to leave when he quit a few years ago. He's been visiting at WWE headquarters regularly since he left the company as every few weeks, we'd hear he was there. Dreamer needed stiches and had to go to an ER the next day due to swelling on his head from the beating he took from the Shield on Raw.
