LINDA'S CAMPAIGN AND WHAT IT MEANS FOR WWE PINK SLIPS, BUILDING A FUTURE FOR WWE, WHAT VINCE WAS THINKING WITH THE LAWLER ANGLE AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2012-11-16 10:00:00
Now that Linda McMahon does not have to worry about the stories of her being a job creator from a political standpoint, do you expect to see some wrestlers getting "Future Endeavored" in the near future?

That's certainly a possibility. The one thing that wrestlers not really being utilized have in their favor is that there is a lot more programming than ever before to fill, so they need warm bodies for that. But, there's been a few people in and out of the company who have believed WWE was holding off on letting people go to save Linda McMahon's campaign from any negative press that could come with it. That obviously is no longer a factor in decision making.

I know Jerry Lawler probably had SOME say in his return and the angle they ended up running with CM Punk on 11/12/12, but where is the line between "sports entertainment" and being ABSOLUTELY tasteless?! My wife was sick to her stomach, and even I felt queasy. She wasn't around for Katie Vick, etc, but seriously, what the hell is going through VKM's mind pulling this?! Absolutely TASTELESS!

Everyone involved agreed to the angle, although whether they all personally liked it is something they aren't going to discuss while under contract to WWE. As for what Vince McMahon was thinking - he was thinking of drawing money!

I just read Mike's memo to WWE and I agree with everything. You said that WWE needs to create a nucleus of younger guys to build the company around. Of the current roster (main and developmental) who would you pick to be that nucleus?

You've got them in Punk, Ziggler, Miz, Kofi and Sheamus but none of them are treated as THE GUYS. The company needs to start to build around them and let the other, older names be on the fringe. Over time, you work in Antonio Cesaro, Seth Rollins, Kassius Ohno, etc. and run with it. It will take time and patience but it will work.

Hi Guys, love the site following it for years , Question is about Mr Anderson , Do you think he would/will ever go back to WWE , I think he had massive potential and loved his WWe persona !

It's possible but he didn't leave well liked or under the best of circumstances, so I don't see that as being a strong possibility. He went from a guy they were willing to make a McMahon to a guy they fired the day after he came back from his latest injury.

…Also I am been drawn more & more to TNA product , do you feel they might ever challenge WWE?

I'd like to think that is possible but the reality is that WWE is too large of a monster for anyone to ever challenge. TNA is best served just trying to do what is best for their company.
