WWE SATURDAY MORNING SLAM REPORT: THE INTERNATIONAL IMPACT OF WWE; KOFI KINGSTON AND R TRUTH VERSUS EPICO AND PRIMO; LANGUAGE LESSONS

This week, Saturday Morning Slam will take a look at the international nature of WWE and the superstars.

We start off with a look at Johannesburg, South Africa, the home of Justin Gabriel and that is the Saturday Morning Spotlight.

We see footage from Gabriel’s matches, including a look at the 450 splash.

We are told that Johannesburg is 8000 miles from New York, and is a 17 hour flight. We see Justin walking around Cape Town. He mentions that he had not been back to South Africa for three years before their tour of the country.

Justin talks about the diversity of the country.

His father was a wrestler and a promoter, but he died when Justin was 18. He says that he thinks his father would have hoped that he would follow in his footsteps. Justin talks about how he told his mother that he would be a WWE Superstar when he was a kid and his mother questioned him, but she said it was to motivate him.

The next segment is around the world in 40 Superstars.

We go from Justin Gabriel in South Africa to Kofi Kingston in Ghana. Then we go to Uganda for Kamala. Then we move to India for Great Khali. It is off to Japan for Yoshi Tatsu. Australia for Nathan Jones. New Zealand for the Bushwhackers. Fiji for Jimmy Snuka. Tonga for Haku. Samoa for Rikishi. We move from the Pacific to South American and Giant Gonzalez represents Argentina while Giant Silva represents Brazil. Ezekiel Jackson represents Guyana.

Time to go to the Caribbean with Pedro Morales from Puerto Rico, Alberto Del Rio from Mexico. Then we move to the United States where there are a few wrestlers who can represent this country, including Lex Luger, Randy Savage, Sergeant Slaughter, Hulk Hogan, John Cena, and Jim Duggan with the Stars and Stripes present. Moving north, we go to Canada with Bret Hart, Christian, Chris Jericho, Tyson Kidd, Natalya, and Edge among the representatives.

We go to Europe with William Regal representing England, Mason Ryan representing Wales, and Drew McIntyre representing Scotland. Sheamus is from Ireland. Andre The Giant represents France. Further into Europe, we get Alex Wright from Germany, Antonio Cesaro from Switzerland, and Santino Marella to represent Italy.

Spiros Arion represents Greece while Baron Mikel Scicluna is the superstar from Malta. Ludwig Borga is from Finland while Ivan Putski represents Poland. Moving back to the modern wrestlers, Aksana is from Lithuania and Vladimir Kozlov is from the Ukraine. Nikolai Volkoff represents Russia and the Iron Sheik represents Iran. We hear the Soviet National Anthem performed by Volkoff.

The final location that has given us a number of superstars in the WWE is the mysterious ‘Parts Unknown’. Representing this exotic location are the Ultimate Warrior, Demoltion, Papa Shango, Doink, the Missing Link, and the Boogeyman.

We are back and it is time for the Saturday Morning Slam Match of the Week with your announcers Josh Mathews and Santino Marella.

This week’s match is Kofi Kingston and R Truth (with Little Jimmy) versus Epico and Primo.

Before the match starts, Josh and Santino talk about whether it is important to be friends with your tag team partner.

Primo and Kofi start things off and Primo tries to sneak up on Kofi but Kofi is able to avoid the attack and he gives Primo a drop toe hold followed by a few arm drags into an arm bar. Kofi counters a hip toss with a monkey flip and he gets a near fall.

Truth tags in and they hit a double back body drop. Truth gets a near fall and Primo is able to tag in Epico. Truth with an arm drag into an arm bar. Truth stops Epico and Truth wants to do the Shimmy but Kofi suggests that Truth does something different and he spins around. Epico wonders what Truth just did and he is talking to Little Jimmy in the ring. Epico wants to talk to Little Jimmy. He brings Primo into the ring and then Kofi gets in the ring too.

Epico and Primo want to be friends with Little Jimmy but Truth isn’t sure. Primo and Epico have the referee ask Little Jimmy if he wants to be Epico and Primo’s friend and the referee tells Epico and Primo that Little Jimmy said no.

Epico and Primo attack Kofi and Truth. Epico and Primo Irish whip Kofi and Truth towards each other but in the center of the ring they dosey do and Kofi hits a cross body on Epico while Truth hits one on Primo. Epico and Primo go to the floor and then Truth and Kofi do the Kid and Play before we go to commercial.

We are back and Epico with an Irish whip but Truth floats over and then does a split followed by a hip toss. Truth with an Irish whip but Truth misses a splash into the corner. Epico with an abdominal stretch but Truth with a hip toss to escape. Epico puts Truth in a bear hug when Truth tries to jump to make the tag to Kofi.

Truth pulls Epico’s ears to escape and Kofi is able to be tagged in. Kofi with a springboard drop kick followed by a chop and Superman punch. Kofi does the Boom drop and he sets for Trouble in Paradise but Epico avoids it. Kofi with the SOS but Primo breaks up the cover. Primo charges at Truth but Truth ducks down and Primo goes to the floor.

Kofi misses a splash into the corner but Epico misses a splash of his own. Kofi with a cross body for the three count.

Winners: R Truth and Kofi Kingston

We go to commercial.

We are back with more international flair.

We go to footage from WWE’s recent tour of Asia. The first stop is Taiwan with comments from the fans and photos of the wrestlers in action. The next stop is China with more comments and photos. The next stop is Japan.

Next week, the focus will be on the Intercontinental Championship and the Miz, the current champion.

It would not be an international edition of Saturday Morning Slam without language lessons and who better to do that than the man who can speak five languages, Antonio Cesaro. Antonio says that he will teach the kids how to say ‘Welcome back to school’ in five languages.
