RING OF HONOR TELEVISION REPORT: THE FUTURE OF THE TAG TITLES; A NUMBER ONE CONTENDER IS DETERMINED FOR DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR; ANOTHER FORMER CHAMP TRIES TO GET THE TITLE FROM KEVIN STEEN

We begin this week’s show with a look at the All Night Xpress’ victory over Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin at Best in the World. Jim Cornette mentions that there was a contract dispute with Kenny King and that Kenny has relinquished his tag team title and has decided to wrestle elsewhere. The tag titles have been vacated, but Rhett Titus will be a part of the eight man tag team tournament with a partner of his choosing. The tournament will start next week.

We are live on tape from Baltimore, Maryland and your announcers are Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness.

Match Number One: Mia Yim versus Sara Del Rey

Del Rey with a waist lock take down and she gets a near fall. Del Rey with a front face lock and then she works on the wrist. Mia reverses but Del Rey with an arm bar take down. Yim makes it to the ropes and Del Rey releases the hold. Mia offers her hand to Del Rey but it was a trap and Mia with a round kick but Del Rey with a back heel kick and chops.

Mia with a back kick and a running knee to the head for a near fall. Mia with punches to Del Rey. Mia with kicks to the head followed by slaps. Del Rey with forearms and then she tosses Mia across the ring by the hair. Mia with a kick to the arm. Mia and Sara exchange kicks and then they kick each other at the same time and both go down.

Del Rey recovers first and gets a near fall. Del Rey gets Mia on her shoulders but Mia is able to counter and gets a near fall with a rollup. Del Rey with a boot to the head. Del Rey with chops in the corner followed by an Irish whip but Mia moves when Del Rey tries for a cannonball.

Mia goes up top and misses a Phoenix Splash. Del Rey with a kick to the head and she gets the three count.

Winner: Sara Del Rey

After the match, Mike Bennett makes his way to the ring and he makes sure that Sara’s back is to the entrance. Maria Kanellis comes out and she hits Sara with her boot and then hits a bulldog.

Maria gets a mic and she asks Sara ‘Who’s the first lady of wrestling . . . bitch?’

We go to commercial.

We are back and Kevin and Nigel talk about the tag team tournament but they are interrupted by Truth Martini’s music and he comes out with Rhino.

Truth says that Jim Cornette has a problem but Truth says that he has the solution. He wants Cornette to come out.

Jim wants to know what Truth is doing.

Truth says that Jim will like what he has to say.

Jim says that a lot of people are trying to hijack the show. He wants Truth to be quick so we can get to the wrestling.

Truth says that the company that Jim loves so much is being held hostage by scum. Truth says that he is talking about Kevin Steen, Jimmy Jacobs, and Steve Corino. He says that the House of Truth outnumber SCUM. He knows that Jim wants to get rid of Kevin Steen, but Jim is going the wrong way. Guys like Eddie Kingston and Homicide are going to fail.

Jim has a problem and the entire solution has been under Jim’s nose. The man to get rid of Kevin Steen is the man who has destroyed all of his competition. A man from the mean streets of Detroit. A man who is a hired mercenary. A man who just beat former World Champion Eddie Edwards. The master of the GORE. Truth says that he is talking about Rhino.

Jim says that Truth makes a good point . . .

Eddie Edwards’ music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

Eddie says that he is not here to cause a problem. Truth says his name but does he think that nothing will come of that. He says that Truth cannot keep score. Rhino beat him in Milwaukee. The truth is that he beat Rhino in Toronto and they are even.

Jim says that Eddie has a point and he doesn’t know which would be worse, Kevin Steen running things or Truth.

They need a challenger for Kevin Steen at Death Before Dishonor. Eddie and Rhino are both former World Champions and the obvious result is that we need a rubber match. Jim suggests that we have one right here . . . right now.

Jim says that he wants someone who can get down and nasty with Kevin Steen. The match will be Anything Goes and there must be a winner.

Match Number Two: Rhino (with Truth Martini) versus Eddie Edwards in a Number One Contender Match

Rhino attacks Eddie and the referee calls for the bell. We go to commercial.

We are back and Edwards sends Rhino to the floor and Edwards hits a suicide dive. Edwards chops Rhino but Rhino chops back as they battle on the floor. Rhino with forearms and Edwards Irish whips Rhino into the guardrails and Edwards with a running boot to the head. Edwards gets a drink and he hits Rhino in the head with it. Edwards with a rana on the floor and guardrails are banged by the fans. Edwards sends Rhino back into the ring.

Edwards goes up top but Rhino avoids Eddie. Edwards with a back heel kick to the knee and then he hits a drop kick for a near fall. Rhino punches Edward and sends him into the turnbuckles. Rhino chokes Eddie with his boot. Rhino with forearms to the midsection. Rhino with an Irish whip but Eddie floats over. Rhino presses Eddie over his head and slams Eddie into the turnbuckles.

Rhino punches Eddie in the head. Rhino with a forearm to the kidneys. Truth gets a chair while Rhino apparently kicks Eddie in the corner. Rhino gets the chair and he hits Eddie in the ribs with the chair. Rhino hits Eddie in the ribs and then the back with the chair and Rhino gets a near fall.

Rhino wedges the chair in the turnbuckles and he sends Eddie into the turnbuckles. Eddie with an enzuigiri and running forearm into the corner. Rhino with a belly-to-belly suplex and Rhino sets for the GORE. Eddie hears the chants so he knows what is coming and he side steps Rhino and Rhino goes into the chair. Eddie with a near fall on a rollup. Edwards with a German suplex.

Rhino with an elbow and he goes to the turnbuckles but Edwards with a drop kick that sends Rhino off the turnbuckles to the floor. Eddie follows Rhino to the floor. Eddie gets the ring bell and he rings it against Rhino’s head. Eddie gets one of the tables from ringside and he brings it into the ring.

Eddie with an elbow but Rhino runs Edwards into the guardrail. Rhino gets a chair and he puts a few into the ring. Rhino puts Edwards on the turnbuckles and tries for a superplex. Edwards blocks it and head butts Rhino. Eddie hits a sunset flip power bomb onto the chairs but Rhino kicks out at two.

Edwards sets up the table in the corner. Eddie tries to German suplex Rhino through the table, but Rhino counters and tries to send Eddie through the table. Eddie escapes. Rhino with a spinebuster and then he sets for a GORE but Eddie with a kick to the head. Martini tries to interfere and Eddie knocks him off the apron. Rhino with a GORE through the table and the referee stops the match.

Winner: Rhino

We go to commercial.

We are back and it is time for Inside ROH.

The first topic this week is the deal that Jim Cornette made with Truth Martini. Rhino will face Kevin Steen at Death Before Dishonor: State of Emergency.

The next issue is the Tag Team Tournament to crown new champions.

The semifinals and finals of the Tag Team Tournament will also take place at Death Before Dishonor. The first matches will take place next week and will feature Caprice Coleman and Cedric Alexander versus The Young Buck. The following week, we will see the Guardians of Truth against Rhett Titus and his partner and the Bravados versus Charlie Haas and his partner Match. The following week, the Briscoes will face Blk-Out.

Rhett Titus says that people probably expect him to come out and whine and complain but Kenny King is a grown ass man and he made his own decision. Rhett says that he worked damn hard to earn those titles. Rhett says that he is going to find a partner who will stand by his side and be down for the ride.

Charlie Haas says that the idea of having a tag team tournament is bulls***. When Kenny ran yellow and jumped ship because of what him and Shelton did to Kenny. The crime was that Kenny did not hand over the tag titles. Charlie says that he will do what he wants and Jim will not like his choice.

We will have a Television Title Match at Death Before Dishonor. Six men will have the chance to face Adam Cole. Those men are Mike Mondo, Roderick Strong, Tommaso Ciampa, Jay Lethal, TJ Perkins, and Mike Bennett.

We go to comments from Mike Bennett. Next week, six men will be in the ring and he will face a few nameless people. All that matters is that when he wins, he gets to go to Chicago and face the TV Champion. All of the Ring of Honor Universe will get to see him on television day in and day out. He will be on television all the time.

We are back and Kevin mentions that Eddie Edwards has been taken to a medical facility and they hope to have an update shortly.

Steve Corino joins Nigel and Kevin at the announce table for the main event because Kevin Steen is wrestling.

Match Number Three: Homicide versus Kevin Steen (with Jimmy Jacobs) for the Ring of Honor World Title

Before the match starts, Kevin reminds Homicide that he used to hate Jim Cornette’s guts and he wants to know why Homicide is fighting Jim’s battles and why is Homicide Jim’s bitch.

Homicide says that he is not doing this for Jim Cornette, he is doing this for him.

Homicide punches Steen and the referee calls for the bell. They exchange punches and then Homicide hits a few clotheslines and Steen rolls to the floor. Homicide sets for the tope con hilo but Steen moves out of the way and Homicide stops in the ring. Homicide with a cannonball onto Steen from the apron and then Jacobs retreats into the crowd to avoid Homicide.

They return to the ring and Homicide with knees into the corner and then he chops Steen. Homicide tries for a monkey flip but Steen blocks it and he sends Homicide into the turnbuckles with a back drop. Steen follows with a cannonball into the corner. Jacobs kicks Homicide in the head while the referee deals with Steen. Steen punches Homicide in the ear as we go to commercial.

We are back and Steen continues to work on the ear. Homicide’s equilibrium is affected as he swings wildly on a chop. Steen continues to work on the ear and he punches Homicide in the head. Steen sends Homicide into the ring and he runs the ear against the ropes. Jacobs continues to work on the ear while the referee is distracted.

The referee checks on Steen but Steen picks up Homicide by the ear. Steen bites the ear but Homicide bites back. Homicide with a tilt-a-whirl head scissors followed by a flying back elbow and neck breaker for a near fall. Homicide sets for a lariat but Steen blocks it and he gets Homicide on his shoulders. Homicide escapes but Steen with a power bomb and he gets a near fall.

Homicide grabs Steen by the nose and he connects with a European uppercut. Homicide with a running forearm into the corner and then he goes to the turnbuckles for a tornado DDT and he gets a near fall. Homicide goes to the turnbuckles and he signals for a tornado DDT but Steen blocks it. Steen with a back drop to counter a crucifix and Steen gets a near fall.

Homicide blocks a clothesline but Steen gets a back slide for a near fall. Homicide hits the Ace Crusher but can only get a near fall. Homicide runs into a boot from Steen. Homicide with a punch to Steen on the turnbuckles. Homicide goes for a super Ace Cutter but Steen counters with a super Fisherman’s buster but Homicide kicks out.

Steen stomps on the midsection and then Steen goes up top for the Swanton but Homicide moves out of the way. Homicide sets for the Cop Kiler but Jacobs distracts Homicide. Steen knocks Jacobs off the apron and Homicide rolls up Steen and gets a near fall. Jacobs distracts the referee and Steen with a low kick followed by F-Cinq for the three count.

Winner: Kevin Steen

After the match, Rhino and Truth Martini come out and we have a stare down from afar.
