TOP WWE NAMES NOT INVOLVED IN SCOOBY DOO CARTOON, CONCUSSIONS, NASH'S CLAIMS LAST WEEK AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2012-08-16 09:54:53
My question is regarding Kevin Nash. I saw that Mike Johnson ended up writing an article about Nash's recent interview regarding Benoit and Guerrero. I know this won't be popular with anyone at PWInsider, but I can't see where Nash is wrong. If anything, talking about what he honestly thinks of deceased wrestlers is being just that, honest. That is his honest opinion. And we all have to hand it to him, he is one smart dude. I just feel like as reporters on a reputable wrestling site, no one should be knocking at Nash. Some people do feel the same way as he does. Casual fans think of wrestlers as larger than life. Some fans are indeed intrigued by the size of a wrestler. Heck after all this business was built on that word, intrigue. I don't doubt that Benoit and Guerrero were great wrestlers, but, this business doesn't run only on smart fans and die hards, it runs on the casuals too. And we need as much casual fans as we can get to keep the ball rolling. So why the heat on Nash for stating HIS opinion?

The issue was never his opinion. The issue was that Nash was saying these things just to get his name out there and get attention for himself. He's since admitted on radio shows that he made comments to get himself heat. So, he wasn't giving a true opinion, he just wanted to get people upset.

I meant to send this awhile back but forgot.....but I noticed that on Saturday nights, the NBC Universal channel runs RAW and Smackdown, back to back to back to back. Raw runs at least twice, same for Smackdown. And on the Saturday AFTER the 1000th RAW, almost every commercial, if not every, was a World Wildlife Fund spot. Over and over, they would air at least a 2 min spot then return to the program. So, my thinking and question is, did WWE work out an agreement with the WWF so they can use the scratch logo again? By agreeing to run their WWF sponsor spots during re-runs of RAW and Smackdown?

It's quite possible an ad buy was part of the settlement. I can't confirm that 100% however.

Where is JT Smith and The Rockin' Rebel these days?

Smith is retired and lives in Virginia. Rebel still wrestles in the Delaware and PA independent scene.

I saw WWE is doing a Scooby Doo movie. They announced a ton of people for the cartoon but not CM Punk or Sheamus - what gives? Why wouldn't you want your top champions involved?

I agree with you 100% but I think a possible reason may be that the film isn't going to be released until 2014, which may be a sign that neither is signed through that year. In the past, WWE has been gunshy about putting talents in projects that would come out after their deals are up. That's why Batista was replaced by Triple H in "Inside Out."

How long does WWE hold out talents with concussions?

It all depends on the severity of the concussion. They won't let the talents work without being cleared medically by their medical staff.
