THOUGHTS FROM VINCE MCMAHON'S OPENING COMMENTS ON WWE'S CONFERENCE CALL, INCLUDING AN UPDATE ON THE WWE NETWORK

Vince McMahon opened up today's Second Quarter Conference Call today.  Here are some thoughts on what he said in the open.

Vince said that they were flat overall but talked about the 17% increase in the PPV business.  That increase carried the quarter, for sure.

Social media is exploding. Vince said that he thinks social media can "change the overall impact of their business extraordinarily".  He said he expects to have a bigger presence worldwide in a year. Get used to it because social media onslaught will continue.  Vince talked about their investment in Tout as well.  They are really into the company so expect more goobers getting their fifteen seconds of fame on WWE TV.

Vince put over the third hour of Raw and he feels that the new ION show, which debuts in October, will give WWE a new audience that they aren't reaching now.  I can't see that being the case but maybe there is a huge group of people that don't have access to cable but do ION.

Vince laughed when he talked about how they remastered the 1989 "No Holds Barred" move.  I am not sure why he laughed but there has to be a lot of reasons.  Like the fact that the movie was hideous perhaps?  Anyway, he said sales of it were going well.  I am really afraid to think anyone bought that DVD.

He said that the debut in Brazil was "OK".  I like when he is fair and so far he has been.

He then talked about the elephant in the room, The WWE Network.  He is still not ready to make an announcement but hopes he will be next quarter.  Hey, you love YouTube, Tout and social media.  Why not just put your content there and save the money?
