HOGAN PULLS OUT OF NEW STADIUM SHOW, CLAIMS HE WAS NEVER 'BOOKED TO WRESTLE'

By Mike Johnson on 2012-07-20 00:40:36
Hulk Hogan posted the following on his Twitter:

"Northeastwrestling on oww forums is very deceptive,I never signed to wrestle for any of these independents, won't be there on Sept 22. HH"

I've no idea what forums Hogan is referring to, but Northeast Wrestling has never advertised Hogan as doing anything but making an appearance at the event, doing autographs and appearing. He was never advertised once to wrestle by the promotion.

I believe that if Hogan isn't going to appear, it means he must have pulled out of the date, as opposed to the promotion false advertising him. The promotion was aware of Hogan's back surgery upcoming and moved their originally planned date from 8/4 to 9/22 to accommodate Hogan's recovery. There was even talk of moving the show up sooner to fit it into Hogan's schedule but it couldn't be arranged with the venue.

It should be noted that NEW has always been on the ball with advertising and delivering name talent in the past, so I doubt they would suddenly start false advertising the biggest name of the 1980s for the hell of it.

Based on Hogan's statement, some sort of breakdown between the two sides led to him pulling out. The promotion was advertising Hogan as late as Thursday in updates sent to fans. Hogan is currently listed on the promotion's website as appearing.

The NEW event is also scheduled to feature Roddy Piper, Jerry Lawler, Hacksaw Duggan, Matt Hardy and a number of other names.

We'll post more on the Hogan situation as we confirm.
