TNA NEWS AND NOTES FOLLOWING DESTINATION X PPV

By Mike Johnson on 2012-07-09 15:17:31

Lots of happy faces within TNA today, specifically about the main event and the Last Man Standing bout at Destination X. There was a ton of really good wrestling on last night's show and I absolutely recommend getting a replay when it's available.

Sonjay Dutt's shoulder was indeed dislocated last night. He reset it himself backstage and returned to the ring. As I wrote, "In other news, he is a bad MFer."

A few readers asked why TNA didn't bring in any Luchadors for the X-Division tournament. TNA does have a working agreement with AAA but currently, AAA has a contract with Steven Ship of Lucha Libre USA that prevents the promotion from running in the States or having their contracted talents appearing Stateside. So, until that deal expires, don't expect to see any AAA names in TNA. The promotion would obviously love to have them, however.

Expect some of the new X-Division names to return to TNA programming. Kenny King is absolutely in.

Karen Jarrett was backstage at the PPV.

The Hardcore Justice PPV will feature three "hardcore matches" that will count towards the Bound for Glory series.

TNA has a Basebrawl event on 7/14 in Memphis, TN. Other than Thursday's Impact, that will be the only live event of the week.

Tito Ortiz, who made some appearances for TNA a few years ago, including working as a special referee on PPV, was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame over the weekend.

TNA returns to the Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on October 26th, 2012 at 7:30 PM. Tickets go on sale July 27th, 2012. Thanks to Devin Cutting.
