ROH TELEVISION REPORT: ROAD RAGE FROM CHARLESTON FEATURING WORLD TITLE MATCH

We are live on tape from Charleston, West Virginia for another edition of Ring of Honor Road Rage. Your announcers are Kevin Kelly and Jim Cornette.

Jim and Kevin are in the ring and Jim mentions that we will see Eddie Edwards versus Kevin Steen in the main event, but first we will see Jay Lethal versus Michael Elgin.

We go to comments from Jay Lethal. He says that he plans to burst the bubble that Michael Elgin is living in. He will prove that Elgin is not unbreakable. He wants Roderick Strong to watch because the TV Title is coming back home.

Truth Martini is with Michael Elgin and Roderick Strong. He says that Elgin will climb to the top. Elgin wonders if Lethal knows what he has gotten himself into. He says that he will be on top of Lethal within five seconds. He promises that Jay will swallow a lot of blood. No matter how much Lethal begs and pleads, it won’t stop until he says it does.

Strong interrupts and he tells Michael not to worry. When Michael messes up, he will be there to clean things up for Michael.

Michael tells Strong he has everything under control and that Roderick should not come to the ring tonight.

Match Number One: Jay Lethal versus Michael Elgin with Truth Martini

They shake hands before the match starts so this match will have some honor.

They circle each other before locking up. Elgin backs Strong into the turnbuckles and Elgin with a clean break. Lethal goes for the legs but Elgin avoids him. They lock up and Elgin pushes Lethal away. They lock up again and Lethal with a side head lock. Elgin with forearms to the midsection and Lethal with a shoulder tackle but Elgin does not move.

They lock up again and Lethal with another side head lock. Lethal with a shoulder tackle but Elgin stays on his feet again. Elgin wants Lethal to go off the ropes again but Lethal with a punch and Elgin with a shoulder that sends Lethal to the mat. Lethal with chops but Elgin misses punches. Lethal escapes a slam attempt but he has a shoulder tackle blocked.

Lethal with a chop but Elgin with a knee. Lethal with a hip toss and cartwheel into a drop kick and Elgin rolls to the floor. Martini gets on the apron and he pokes the referee and the referee pokes Martini back. Lethal with a kick after Elgin probably tried to do something sneaky but the camera men were focused on Martini on the floor.

Martini grabs Lethal’s leg but Lethal stomps on the foot. Lethal tries for a handspring back elbow but Elgin with a clothesline for a near fall.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Lethal with elbows to Elgin followed by punches. Elgin sends Lethal over the top rope to the floor. Elgin has the referee out of position and Martini with kicks and a chop to the back of the neck to wear down Lethal. Elgin with an Irish whip into the guardrails. Lethal Irish whips Elgin into the guardrails and both men are down. Lethal sends Elgin back into the ring.

Elgin with a kick to the midsection followed by a neck breaker for a near fall. Lethal with punches but Elgin with a forearm and knee. Elgin with a snap mare and reverse chin lock. Lethal with a jawbreaker to get out of the hold. Lethal is sent to the apron by Elgin and Lethal with a punch. Lethal tries for a springboard move but Martini pulls the leg.

Lethal recovers and gets a near fall with a sunset flip and then he gets another near fall with a rollup. Lethal with a kick and then he hits a super kick after escaping a belly-to-back suplex. Lethal gets another near fall. Lethal tries for the Lethal Combination but Elgin with elbows and forearms.

Elgin misses a spinning back fist. Lethal misses an enzuigiri and Elgin hits a deadlift German suplex for a near fall. Elgin with Panic Attack in the corner and then he sends Lethal into the turnbuckles. Elgin tries for a knee but Lethal blocks it. Lethal with an enzuigiri to the back and Elgin is staggered. Lethal hits the Lethal Combination and then he goes up top for the elbow drop but Roderick Strong comes out to stop Lethal while the referee deals with Martini.

Lethal kicks Strong off and leaps over Elgin. Lethal hits a springboard drop kick that knocks Strong off the apron. Elgin with the spinning back fist and he tries for the spinning power bomb but Strong gets into the ring and argues with Elgin. Lethal drop kicks Elgin into Strong and then Lethal hits the Lethal Injection for the three count.

Winner: Jay Lethal

After the match, Strong and Elgin have some words and Martini wants Strong and Elgin to use their Wonder Twin powers but Elgin leaves the ring. Strong has something to say to Elgin and Michael returns to the ring. Martini tries to stop the House of Truth from falling down under a weakened foundation.

Elgin wants the mic and Strong tells Bobby Cruise not to give him the mic. Elgin tells Roderick that the people are right. If this happens, he will kill Strong. He tells Roddy this is the last mistake he will ever make.

We go to commercial.

We are back with Inside ROH and we take a look at some of the footage from the Charleston show and local appearances.

Kevin mentions that we will see footage from New York’s Best in the World show. We will see the Fit Finlay versus Michael Elgin match as well as the World Television Title Match between Roderick Strong, Tommaso Ciampa, and Jay Lethal.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Kevin asks Jim Cornette about making the match between Kevin Steen and Eddie Edwards a title match. Cornette says that because Steen made a poor impression on a sponsor, this match will be for the title.

Steen addresses the people of West Virginia and he tells Jim to listen to what the fans are chanting. The crowd chants ‘Mr. Wrestling’. Kevin says that is the name that Jim told Bobby Cruise never to introduce him as. Steen says that the World Title proves that he is Mr. Wrestling.

Jim asks Kevin if he wants him to enter the ring.

Steen tells Jim that he has a lot to tell him about. Steen says that the people disagree with Cornette that he is not Mr. Wrestling. The title also disagrees with Jim. Steen says that he wants to tell Jim about the great time he had with the sponsor last week at dinner.

Jim wants Kevin to know how much money he cost the company over his tricks.

Steen says that the sponsors overreacted when they called security.

Cornette says that Steen threatened his life.

Steen says that Cornette was wrong. He just told the guy that if he continued to poke him, he wouldn’t order off the menu, he would feast on his face.

Cornette says that if Steen was the World Champ, he would ruin the company because of the way the sponsors would react. Because he wants someone to beat Steen for the title, tonight’s match is for the World Title. If Edwards does not win tonight and if Davey does not win at Best in the World, every time Steen is in a singles match, it will be for the title. Cornette doesn’t care who it is. It will happen before the affiliates meeting in September. It will happen sooner or later.

Steen says that sooner or later, they will be dead. For Cornette, it will be sooner and it will be later for him. Steen reminds Cornette that he is the World Champion.

Steve Corino has joined Jim and Kevin at the announce table.

Match Number Two: Kevin Steen with Jimmy Jacobs and Steve Corino versus Eddie Edwards for the Ring of Honor World Title

Steen offers his hand but Edwards kicks it away.

Steen and Edwards with forearms and then Jacobs grabs Eddie’s leg. Eddie with an elbow to Steen and a pescado onto Jacobs. Steen attacks Edwards when he reenters the ring. Steen sends Edwards into the turnbuckles. Edwards floats over and tries to roll into the Achilles Lock but Steen kicks him away. Steen charges at Edwards but Edwards drops down and Steen goes over the top rope to the floor. Edwards goes to the apron but Steen pulls Edwards off the apron.

Edwards with an Irish whip into the guardrails. Edwards with a running boot against the guardrails. Jacobs backs away from Edwards and they return to the ring. Steen rolls to the floor and Edwards follows. Jacobs distracts Edwards and Steen tries for a power bomb but Edwards with a rana. Steen with a fallaway slam into the guardrails.

Jacobs has something to say to Edwards on the floor and the referee warns Jacobs.

Steen shows Edwards a Kill Steen Kill sign and then he sends Eddie into the guardrails. They move around the ringside area and Steen sends Eddie into the guardrails in front of some Hooters girls.

They go to the entrance ramp but Edwards with an elbow and punch. Edwards with a head butt but Steen with a forearm and he blows a kiss to the Hooters girls. Steen brings Edwards back to the immediate ringside area. Edwards with a knee but Steen probably does something to Edwards, but the camera focused on Jacobs watching the action.

Steen fish hooks Edwards and bites his face in front of Cornette. They return to the ring and Steen kicks Edwards in the back. Edwards slaps Steen but Steen with a forearm and he chokes Edwards in the corner.

Steen chokes Eddie again the corner.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Steen with a forearm to the back but Edwards with chops and forearms. Steen fires back with forearms. Steen with a snap mare and then he tells Cornette that the next move is straight from the 1980s and he applies a reverse chin lock. Edwards punches Steen but Steen with a rake of the eyes.

Edwards with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex into the turnbuckles and both men are down. Edwards with a running forearm into the corner and then he hits a suplex and goes to the turnbuckles. Edwards with a missile drop kick and he gets a near fall. Edwards with a head butt but Steen with a pump handle neck breaker for a near fall.

Steen gets Edwards on his shoulders but Edwards gets to his feet. Edwards and Steen go to the floor and Edwards with a running boot to the head to knock Steen to the floor. Edwards with a suicide dive onto Steen and then he goes back into the ring and hits one on Jacobs, who went to check on Steen.

Edwards runs into a lariat from Steen and Steen can only get a two count. Steen gets back to his feet first but he runs into a boot from Edwards. Edwards with a Codebreaker from the turnbuckles and then he hits a belly-to-back sit out gourdbuster for a near fall. Edwards goes up top but misses the double stomp. Steen with a power bomb for a near fall.

Steen applies the Sharpshooter but Edwards makes it to the ropes. Edwards with a forearm and he goes up top. Steen pulls him off. Edwards with a forearm and he tries for a shoulder but Steen blocks it with a knee and he hits a DDT and both men are down. Steen waits for Edwards to get to his feet. He tells Edwards he will never beat him but Steen misses the cannonball.

Edwards goes up top and hits the double stomp but Steen kicks out. Steen rolls to the apron. Edwards goes up top and tries for the double stomp on the apron and misses. Edwards misses a boot to the floor. Steen sends Edwards through the ringside table with a power bomb. Steen rolls Eddie back into the ring but Edwards kicks out at two.

Steen goes up top for the Swanton but Edwards gets his knees up. Steen with a super kick but Edwards with one of his own. It is time for alternating super kicks until Edwards hits two in a row and then hits a German suplex. Steen gets to his feet first and he kicks Edwards. Edwards with an enzuigiri and then he tries for the backpack stunner but Steen is able to escape the hold and he hits the sleeper suplex followed by the F-Cinq for the three count.

Winner: Kevin Steen
