WWE NEWS AND NOTES ON TOM PRICHARD, PENN STATE, DAMAGE TO FORMER WWE VENUE, NEXT THEATRICAL RELEASE AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2012-07-06 14:22:30
There was a five alarm fire yesterday at the Hershey Park Arena, a regular stop for WWE TV in Hershey, PA. The venue had damage but it is believed it can be completely repaired. The venue housed 2 Saturday Nights Main Events and a ton of WWF Superstars tapings. Currently, the arena is used as a public ice skating facility and practice rink for the AHL Hershey Bears. Several years ago they built the very modern Giant Center nearby which is where WWE does all their TV in that area now. The Giant Center also hosts tons of concerts and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League which used to be the minor league affiliate of the Washington Capitals - that will change to a different team next year. For details, click here. Thanks to everyone who helped with the story.

WWE returns to the Bryce Jordan Center at Penn State University in State College, Pennsylvania on Friday, September 21st, 2012. Bell time is 7:30 PM. Thanks to Devin Cutting.

Former CHIKARA, 2CW, and DGUSA wrestler Brodie Lee has been re-named Luke Harper in WWE developmental.

Speaking of developmental, former trainer Dr. Tom Prichard had posted the first of what I personally hope are many blogs on his official website www.drtomprichard.com.

WWE Studios' The Day will be released theatrically on 8/29.

Timothy Johnson sent word that CNN.com (yes, CNN!) featured a piece on Doink the Clown's return to WWE TV this week at this link.

Chris Yandek sent the following....Jake Roberts is available for bookings, wrestling events, signings, movie and commerical work, seminars. Contact Shannon at farmgirl@atlantic.net, please SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY..thank you.
