IS PUNK A SELLOUT, STEPHANIE RETURNING, TNA DVD DISTRIBUTOR AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2012-06-22 10:00:00
In 2011, CM Punk referred to John Cena as a sell out, and 'the New York Yankees'. Can the same now be said for Punk? In 2011 he spoke his mind, had great must see promo's and basically referred to the companies downfalls. Fast forward a year, he has a big new contract, his promo's go no further than claiming he is the best in the world, and he is a midcard WWE champion, still behind John Cena.

I don't think you can see Punk as a sellout. He's still the same personality and character that he was a year ago, except now the company actually respects him as a talent.

As always, I love your site. Thanks for doing what you do. My question... with the roster as scarily thin as it is right now with really Cena and Punk being the only two major stars with Sheamus, Bryan, and Del Rio on the cusp, how has WWE not brought in Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. I know they've been on the road in dark matches but what are they waiting for? From what I can tell these two guys have the "it" factor. Can WWE really afford to put off their debuts any longer? Or is this a case of creative wouldn't know what to do if they brought them up? I mean, look at Ryback, Sandow, Sin Cara... squash match after squash match cause they dont have a program for them... thoughts?

I don't believe they have been brought up yet for exactly the reasons you mentioned - the roster is thin. Since things are so thin, they really only have one chance to get them over with the masses out of the gate, or else they become another pair of mid-card talents floating around - so, best for the company to take their time.

I just read Dixie Carter's statement about TNA and their temporary restraining order against WWE... of course, I read this the night after WWE's Christian appears on TNA's PPV and TNA specially invited guest. Umm, isn't the whole thing sound like TNA has their own conflict of interest or am I missing something?

No, the Christian thing was part of a deal the company signed with WWE to have him at their PPV in exchange for letting Ric Flair appear at the WWE Hall of Fame and Wrestlemania. The lawsuit situation has nothing to do with that.

Has TNA found a new DVD distributor yet?

As of today, no.

I read where Vince McMahon returned to Raw. Does this mean Stephanie is not far behind?

No word, but I don't see her wanting to go on the road regularly when she's got children to raise.
