WWE CENSORSHIP OF NEW ECW DVD, NXT ON NBC SPORTSNETWORK AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2012-05-31 10:00:00
Having since the awesome trailer for the new ECW dvd I got a question I hope you can answer. Do you have any updates on what happens with WWE bringing it's DVD to the UK? There is a few titles like Wrestlemania and the ECW one I want to pick up to see. Even more so after the recent crap they been doing.

Unfortunately, that is still up in the air as of this writing. There's been no official word either way yet as to the future of DVD releases for those markets.

Hi Mike. Quick question. I heard "House of the Rising Sun" by the Animals on the radio. I seem to recall an ROH wrestler who came out to the song. Who was it? I was thinking maybe Jimmy Jacobs. Thanks. I know if anyone knows it will be you.

It was actually Jimmy Rave who used the song in ROH.

What is the beef between The Iron Sheik and Virgil?

I'm guessing there is no real beef and it's just the Sheik going off because it gets him over.

I was wondering if there is any interest in putting WWE NXT (or any other WWE show for that matter) on NBC SportsNetwork. WWE still airs on sports networks in many countries worldwide, including Canada and the UK. With the NHL season coming to a close, NBCSN probably does not have much to show in the summer anyways. Plus they have already showed UFC in the past (as Versus) and currently do boxing on a semi-regular basis. They need to find a broadcaster quick, as I am fed up of having to see The Great Khali and Ezekiel Jackson dance in the ring together, while they search for a new home for NXT in the US.

That's actually a great idea, but as of this writing, no official word on a home for NXT.

First off, great work- as usual. I have a question that I almost don't want answered: Is the new ECW Blu Ray going to be censored? Language and blood? I haven't purchased a WWE home release in a long time and have been looking forward to this- until it just dawned on me that this might be a little more WWECW than the ECW that we all remember and love. And if it is censored, why wouldn't they make an exception for something like this and market it as an "M" release for adults? Not everything they do has to be done for Hasbro and the kiddies. So frustrating. I miss "wrestling." "Sports Entertainment" sucks.

I was pretty much told that the DVD will be marketed as TV-14 and won't have the same edits as a regular WWE DVD. However, until we see the final product next week, we can't say for sure. I'll have a full review up shortly.
