They also announced that this year's event will be dedicated to the legacy of "The Invaders" (1,2,3, & 4). They mentioned that there are still some more surprises to come in the next few weeks. They also mentioned that on Saturday June 2nd they will be having a special pre-sale at the box office of the "Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum" in Bayamon, PR. This will be for the Satuday show and they will only be selling ringside seats during that day. No mentioned of the price range as of yet, but last year they were from $25 to $40 (red carpet).
About today's show, they played the match between Ray Gonzalez and Gilbert for the WWC Universal Title that took place last Saturday in Guaynabo. It was a really good paced match with classic storyline booking. The angle at the end saw Gonzalez losing due to the interference of the "Mystery Masked Man" who he apparently was able to recognize and led to them attacking him and causing him the match and title. "El General" Barrabas, who had been watching the match from the ringside area came closer to the ring and talked to Gonzalez about reforming "La Familia". This was a faction that created havoc in the mid to late '90's and was led by Gonzalez & Barrabas. He threw a shirt at Gonzalez with a picture of him in the middle, surrounded by Carlito, Thunder & Lightning w/ Barrabas in the background. Barrabas asked him to join him once again and Gonzalez told him that he would not fall in his plans this time. He stated that he knew who was under the masks earlier (implying that it was Thunder & Lightning) and they cost him the title and the match. A bloody Gonzalez told him to go to hell ("vete al carajo"), threw the shirt back at him and left the ring. Barrabas kept saying "Ray, please wait... don't leave yet... Ray..." as he was shown with tears in his face, showing emotion of not being able to bring back "La Familia" together.
No shows running tonight from any of the companies here in the island since tonight is the Mayweather/Cotto fight. All in all, a really good show this week, as it has been in the last 3 to 4 weeks now. The stories are starting to unfold and I can see something brewing for Aniversario involving Ray, Carlito and some version of "La Familia" being somewhere in the top two or three angles for that weekend. There was a "hot seat" interview with Carlito but power went out right when the interview was about to begin. I will look for it online later and send you a recap of the promo.
