MAKING JOHN CENA MORE PALATABLE TO THE HARDCORE FANS, DANIEL BRYAN AS A FACE, LESNAR VS. BATISTA, IS SHEAMUS ANOTHER CENA AND MORE

I would like to have your opinion of the following: I'm more and more under the impression, that WWE is presenting Sheamus as some kind of an Irish John Cena. He is smiling way to often, tells silly stories in almost every promo and starts to make the same childish jokes as Cena. Isn't it quite dangerous by WWE to do that ? The fans already have no problem turning on Cena once a bigger or more popular name (re-)surfaces and Sheamus is nowhere near the position Cena is in. What are thought on that ? Am I putting to much thought into it ?

I don't think that they have gone THAT far with Sheamus but you do make a good point about the generic way that WWE pushes characters.  Individuality is what makes the product work and they do a very poor job of differentiating the talents from each other.

Do you think that the WWE is pulling back a bit on Cena being their top guy? I ask because it doesn't seem like the best thing for the company's top guy to be continually overshadowed by The Rock (even though I did enjoy it), beaten by him at the company's biggest event, then attacked in a humiliating way by the returning Brock Lesnar. How exactly does this build him up because even though he seemed to gain some fans with the feud with The Rock, for the most part people still boo him (I doubt he'll ever be as loved by the fans as the WWE would hope)? Is it maybe time for them to go all in with guys generally accepted by the majority of fans, like CM Punk or Orton?

I don't think WWE plans to do that at all.  In fact, I think that having Brock Lesnar lay out Cena and having him lose to Rock was their way of trying to get sympathy for him from hardcore fans.  It may help a little but if they really want him to get over with the masses they just need to stop him from saying stupid things and making the wrong facial gestures at the wrong time.  If they do that and stop booking him as Superman, he works hard enough that he should get accepted more than he is now by the hardcore fan base.

Do you see the WWE considering pushing Daniel Bryan as a face, like they did with CM Punk last year, given his sudden popularity with the fans?

I think it's too soon for that.  The popularity, thus far, has come from the hardcore fans that attended WrestleMania and Raw.  I really want to see how it carries over to TV this week.  Even if it's still there, there is more heel juice in Bryan at this time.  If the fan support continues, I would hope they would consider turning him and playing into it as time goes on.

Hi guys, love the site as always. What are your thoughts about the dynamite kid being inducted into the hall of fame? He was quite possibly the best in the world in his prime, and was part of an legendary tag team, the British bulldogs. I know his health has worsened over the years, but I still think he deserves a place. What do you guys think???

On merit, he absolutely deserves to be in both as a single and as a member of The British Bulldogs.  He wasn't the nicest person in the world, but he was an amazing, revolutionary wrestler.

Now that Lesnar is back, and in hushed tones they speak of Batista's return, do you think at some point they will try to have a Batista/Lesnar match/feud?

I am not even sure Batista returns to WWE at this point.  In fact, if I had to guess now I would say he wouldn't.  He is on the record as saying he doesn't like the nature of the WWE product right now and he has slimmed down a lot from his wrestling days.  Plus, he is in his forties.  I think WWE would love to have him back but I don't think he feels the same way.  They have plans for Lesnar for the next year so anything with Batista would require Brock to stay around after that, IF Batista decided to come back.
