ROH TITLE CLASSIC OVER THE WEEKEND, iPPV ISSUES, BRUNO SAMMARTINO RETURNING TO ROH, TV THIS WEEKEND AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2012-04-02 14:27:45
In many ways, this past weekend was the highest of highs and the lowests of lows for Ring of Honor.  The company presented what was described to me as a pair of excellent events live, although technical issues with the Go Fight Live production of the iPPV severely hampered their attempts to broadcast the shows. The Saturday show was hurt by a brownout in the area that killed their Internet feed. It was one of those situations where everything that could have gone wrong, did and it was extremely frustrating for those in the company. I believe ROH is working on some sort of make-good for the fans, but replay versions without most of the technical issues are already up at this link.

I have heard nothing but raves for the Davey Richards vs. Michael Elgin ROH title match from 3/31.  I am going to sit down and watch it tomorrow and can't wait. I'll have full thoughts tomorrow.

The Lauderdale shows drew in the 800-900 area.

The belief is Adam Pearce, who returned with an impromptu appearance this past Friday as part of the partnership with NWA Ring Warriors, may be back down the line but nothing is set in stone.

Eddie Kingston vs. Kevin Steen has been announced for the 4/28 CHIKARA event as part of their double header with Ring of Honor in Chicago, IL.

ROH will be taping ROH on Sinclair this Saturday in Baltimore, Maryland at the Du Burns Arena.

Ring of Honor will debut in Charleston, WV on 6/15 at the Charleston Civic Center.  The company has TV in the market.  Tickets are on sale 4/4 for Ringside ROH members and 4/6 to the general public.

Bruno Sammartino will return to Ring of Honor on 6/30 when they return to the Rostraver Ice Garden in Belle Vernon, PA in the Pittsburgh area,  Sammartino appeared at the promotion's first ever event in the Manhattan Center in NYC.  There will be a private meet and greet with Sammartino before the show for a separate admission.  Tickets are 4/4 for Ringside members and 4/6 to the public.

ROH is currently holding a promotion where new paid Ringside members receive a free $20 DVD of their choosing.  For more details, visit www.rohwrestling.com.
