COMPLETE LEGENDS WRESTLING EVENT COVERAGE FROM MIAMI, FL

By Mike Johnson on 2012-03-31 13:38:15
Welcome to PWInsider.com's coverage of the WrestleReunion Live Legends Wrestling event show at the Miami Beach Deauville Resort this afternoon. The event will feature:

Mark Nulty is the ring announcer.

The referee for the proceedings is Mickey Jay, the first time he has officiated since being diagnosed with cancer.

The New Age Outlaws vs. Kevin Sullivan and Rick Steiner (with JJ Dillon)

Sullivan and Steiner came out in full Varsity Club regalia.  BG James and Steiner started out.  James tried to avoid him but was bit in the rear end.  They locked up and Steiner backed him into the corner.  Steiner drilled him and tagged in Sullivan.

Sullivan beat on James, kicking him in the corner.  Steiner kept trying to antagonize Gunn.  Gunn finally made the hot tag and worked over both members of the Club.  He tossed Steiner to the outside and charged at Sullivan, who moved.  Gunn hit the buckles and was rolled up.   He put his foot on the ropes but it was shoved off by Dillon.

Your winners, The Varsity Club!

The ring announcer announced them as the winners with an assist from Dillon.  James took the mic and said, "You aren't supposed to smarten them up to the finish, idiot."  He then said that if they have to do a job, they couldn't do it for a better two guys.  He then said that he was honored to know Dillon was going into the Hall of Fame.  They then closed with the NAO spiel.

Just silly comedy stuff but it was over with the audience.

Mark Nulty called out Dave Finlay for an interview.  Harry Smith attacked him from behind and began stomping him in the leg.  Smith took the mic and said that Finlay is the man looking for a fight, so he challenged Finlay to a fight right now.  The crowd began chanting for Finlay.

Fnlay caught him with a right hand as he charged and began working him over with stiff clubbing shots to the chest.   He slammed Smith and nailed him across the back of the neck.   Finlay nailed a short arm clothesline but was cut off and tossed to the floor.   Smith ran him into the guard rail, then nailed an uppercut on the floor.

Back in the ring, Smith stomped the hell out Finlay and worked him over with elbows.  Smith drilled him with a backbreaker and locked on a rear chinlock.  Finlay fought his way back but was cut off.  Smith controlled him on the mat.  Finlay tried to fire back but kept getting cut off.  Smith drilled him with sideslam for a two count.

Smith locked on a rear chinlock.  Finlay fought to his feet and then nailed a jawbreaker to escape.  He kicked off Smith and nailed a series of clotheslines, then a legdrop for a two count.   Finlay nailed the rolling slam for a two count.  Finlay went to the top but was caught and hit with the British Bulldog running powerslam for a two count.

Finlay made a comeback and then nailed the Emerald Frosion and score the pin.

Manscout Jake Manning vs. Matt Classic

Matt Classic came to the ring.  He told the fans not to cheer for him.  He said that of course on a legends show, you'd have the Australian Catch Flyweight champion.  He demanded that the fans line up with two million wrestling if they want a VIP picture of him.  He then cut a scathing promo on Colt Cabana while plugging $5 Wrestling.

Manning said that he was here to defend the honor of $5 Wrestling.  He said that Classic can complain it was a travesty, but people like $5 Wrestling and he's going to bring $5 Wrestling to Classic.  He introduced Freight Train, one of the regulars on the awesome $5 Wrestling DVD series.

Classic attacked Manning from behind and drilled him hard in the corner with his rear end.  He used an Airplane Spin and a double Mongolian chop.  He locked in a bear hug.  Manning fought out but Classic used the chops, then locked on the Iron Claw on different parts of Manning's body.

Manning made a comeback with a clothesline and drilled Classic into his knee, followed by a neckbreaker.  Manning smashed him into the turnbuckles.  Classic reversed an Irish whip and Manning did the Flair flop to the outside.  He ran the apron and came off with a double axehandle.  Manning pulled down the strap but was nailed with a double leg takedown.  Classic put his legs on the rope but the referee saw it,

Classic argued with Freight Train, who told everyone he was cheating.   Classic yelled at him that was a secret, but was rolled up and pinned.

Your winner, Jake Manning!
