RVD EXECUTIVE PRODUCING DOCUMENTARY 'BOARDWALK HEMPIRE', FULL DETAILS ON THE PROJECT

By Mike Johnson on 2012-03-27 17:08:34

As we've noted previously on PWInsider.com, Rob Van Dam has put his star power behind documentary "Boardwalk Hempire - The Rise and Fall of the Medical Kush Beach Club". The film has now named the former WWE, TNA and ECW World champion an Executive Producer.

The film will be a social commentary on the medical marijuana industry through the prism of The Medical Kush Beach Club, a medical marijuana dispensary that RVD frequented and often used as the backdrop for his RVD TV online series.

In an article on the HeymanHustle.com website, Van Dam explains his involvement with the film and discusses the competition and issues that led to the end of the dispensary as well as the financial and legal problems that the owner Sean Kush is still facing.

Promotional material for the film reads: "The film chronicles the experiences of Sean Cardillo (Kush) and his Medical Kush Beach Club, California’s largest (over 100,000 members) medical marijuana dispensary since its opening in Venice Beach 2006, while navigating through federal legislation, police raids, and the capricious medical marijuana industry."

No matter your feelings on the subject matter, it's certainly sounds like an interesting project. Van Dam has long been a proponent of the use of marijuana and as you can see in the article on the Hustle website, the entire subject is something he had a strong personal connection to.
