BY THE NUMBERS: LOOKING BACK AT THE WEEK IN WRESTLING FROM WWE, TNA, AND ROH

By Richard Trionfo on 2012-03-20 13:25:00
All three companies move closer to their next pay per view events with different results. Impact was a week away from Victory Road and they continued to have the most wrestling of any show. Ring of Honor prepared for their two shows in Fort Lauderdale on Wrestlemania weekend with a below average week of wrestling, but featured a solid main event that ended up with the usual finish.

World Wrestling Entertainment moves on to Wrestlemania and the numbers are much higher this year than last year before Wrestlemania. Smackdown tied Impact for the highest total of the week and Superstars was only one minute behind Impact and Smackdown. Raw finally hit twenty minutes of wrestling for the first time in five weeks.

The totals were down slightly from last week, but still above the totals for the three previous weeks. Even with the lower totals, there was only one match that qualified as a one minute match.

This week saw the total amount of wrestling pass the fourteen thousand minute barrier, while Raw passed twenty-eight hundred minutes. It took a total of eight weeks to get the overall total to the next thousand match level while it took six weeks for Raw to get to the next hundred minute level.

Next week, Smackdown should pass the six hundred match barrier.

The time for the Bully Ray versus Bobby Roode match goes from the bell until James Storm connects with the super kick.

The time for the Teddy Long versus John Laurinaitis match goes from the time that Laurinaitis stops yelling at Randy Orton until the end of the match. The two minutes of stalling/promo by Laurinaitis should not be rewarded to avoid a one minute match.

The wrestling times below cover the wrestling that takes place during the show so commercials are not included. All times are rounded to the closest minute (examples: a 4:23 match will be listed as 4 minutes while a 4:32 match will be listed as 5 minutes and anything under a minute is rounded up to a minute).
