RING OF HONOR TELEVISION REPORT: MARCH MAYHEM; LANCE STORM TALKS; KEVIN STEEN TALKS

By Richard Trionfo on 2012-03-18 00:27:11
We begin with footage from the Tenth Anniversary Show where Adam Cole got the victory over Davey Richards in the main event. We then see the handshake after the match between Richards and Cole. Then we go to Kyle O’Reilly talking about how he does not respect Cole or Edwards. It is time for comments from the man who gave us ‘Ju Jitsu Jackoff’, Kevin Steen.

We are live on tape from Baltimore, Maryland and your announcers are Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness.

We go to comments from Adam Cole that were recorded earlier. He says that March 4th was the greatest night of his life because he pinned the World Champ and won the main event for his time. He will also remember Kyle O’Reilly refusing to shake his hand. Adam vows that he will make Kyle respect him.

Match Number One: Adam Cole versus Chris Silvio

They lock up and Silvio works on the arm but Cole rolls through and applies a wrist lock and takes Silvio to the mat. Kyle O’Reilly joins Nigel and Kevin during the match. Silvio escapes and he slaps Cole. Cole slaps Silvio and then Cole with a drop kick. Silvio goes to the floor and he hits a plancha onto Silvio.

Cole back into the ring and Silvio pushes the referee into the way and Silvio with kicks and then he poses while choking Cole. Silvio chokes Cole and then connects with forearms but the referee pulls Silvio out of the corner. Silvio with a swinging neck breaker and then he struts before attempting an elbow drop that misses the mark. Cole with a drop kick but he misses a charge into the corner and he applies a modified LeBell Lock but Cole gets Silvio on his shoulders and he hits a Samoan drop.

Cole with a leaping neck breaker but he is sent to the apron. Cole with a forearm followed by a missile drop kick. Cole gets Silvio on his shoulders for a death valley neck breaker followed by a set up for the wrist clutch German suplex but Silvio blocks it. Silvio with a kick to the head and instead of trying to win the match, Silvio poses and gestures to the crowd. Silvio tries for a wrist clutch German of his own but Cole blocks it. Cole with an enzuigiri and then Cole hits the wrist clutch German suplex and bridge for the three count.

Winner: Adam Cole

After the match, Kyle O’Reilly gets on the mic and he asks Adam if he remembers him. He says that Adam is on a bit of a win streak, but if Adam wants to earn his respect, he needs to beat him. He challenges Adam to a match on March 31st.

Cole says that they were friends but this PMS stuff is getting old. Cole accepts the challenge.

We go to a random crowd shot before we return to comments from Kyle and he says that everyone will know who the back bone of Future Shock was.

We go to commercial.

We are back and people are banging on the guardrails.

We go to highlights from the Jimmy Jacobs versus Kevin Steen match from the Tenth Anniversary Show.

Kevin Kelly is in the ring and he brings out Kevin Steen and he has his Jim Cornette Memorial tennis racket with Davey Richards’ photo on it.

Kevin asks Kevin about his new entrance music. Kevin asks Kevin if he was so smart that he figured it out himself. Steen asks Kelly what he thinks about his tennis racket and then he tells Kelly that he doesn’t care. Steen takes the mic and he says that this is what he assumes Jim Cornette’s tennis racket would look like if that maniac was allowed to carry one around.

Kevin mentions the Blind Destiny Challenge and he points out that the concept is ironic. Jim might be going blind because on Saturday, he will be in the ring with Eddie Edwards, and Steen moves one step closer to the ROH title because it is his destiny.

If Eddie is successful the night before in the World Title match, Steen will get a title match. Whatever efforts Cornette took to keep Steen away from the title, it does not matter because he will be the Ring of Honor World Champion. Then he will hold the company hostage, just like he said when he came back. He will make Cornette pay for what he did to him for a year and a half.

Steen says that he will make Cornette kiss his feet, which are pretty bad. Then he will make Jim kiss his ass, and that is worse. Kevin says that he is going to make Cornette kiss his balls, and Cornette comes out just as Steen starts to say balls. Kevin says that was pretty close.

Jim enters the ring and he says that he did not mean to interrupt Kevin from insulting him or his hobby of trying to say something vulgar. Cornette says that Steen has a match on Friday night before he has to face Eddie Edwards.

Cornette says that he got an offer from someone he has not heard from in a while and this person offered to be Kevin’s opponent on Friday night. Cornette says that he has made the match and the response from this person was only two words. Those words were ‘la venganza’. Cornette says that he talked to Steen’s worst nightmare. He will face the only person who has been able to keep him out of Ring of Honor. The person who knows Steen better than anyone else knows him. It is the person who Steen put through a table with a piledriver at Final Battle. That person is El Generico.

Cornette reminds Generico that the piledriver is banned so if he uses it, Steen is suspended. One way or another, Steen won’t make it to Saturday and Eddie Edwards.

Steen says that he will accept the challenge against Generico. The only thing that will be suspended will be Cornette’s disbelief. He calls Cornette an idiot for thinking that this will affect anything that Steen does. Generico will suffer the same result as he did in December. Steen tells Cornette eye to eye and ‘man to this’ that anybody who gets in his way to the Ring of Honor World Championship will be taken out and that includes Cornette.

Steen leaves the ring and we go to commercial.

We are back and it is time for Inside Ring of Honor and the look at Showdown in the Sun.

We get comments from Lance Storm and he says that he appears to have upset Mike Bennett. He says that this is not the first time that he has pissed someone off by voicing his opinion. He was trying to get his attention. Being old does not mean that you are out of shape. Being washed up and being semi-retired are not one in the same. Lance says that he has been a competitive athlete his entire life. He trains with a passion that Bennett could never understand. He sees that passion in everyone’s eyes but Mike Bennett. Bennett has the talent, but not the determination. It is not about having a hot girlfriend and it is not about living in Los Angeles. It is about pouring your heart and soul into something you believe in. In two weeks, Mike Bennett will step into the ring with him. If Bennett thinks that he is getting into the ring with a washed up, old fart, he better think again.

It is time to hear from World Champion Davey Richards. He says that he has the toughest weekend of his life coming up. He has a Triple Threat Match on Friday night. One guy made his name breaking people. The other guy won’t stay down no matter how much he gives him. When he beats those guys, he gets a special treat on Saturday against Michael Elgin. Davey says that if he walks out of that weekend with the title, he feels that he has earned it.

Davey says that sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Davey says that since June 26th when the title has been on the line, he has been undefeated. Davey says that people have asked him how he could retain the title after everything that he has done. He tells them that someone will beat him for the title when they have gone through the same hell that he has and pry it from his cold, dead fingers.

It is time to talk about the World Tag Team Title Match on Saturday between the Briscoes and the team of Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin.

We get comments from the Briscoes and Jay says that it ain’t no secret that they don’t like them. They made a name for themselves and became millionaires, but the Briscoes have a different plan. They are grinding on the chicken farm and they show that they are a real tag team, not the makeshift teams they faced on Monday nights. They have hit each other with chairs, but when he was handcuffed to the turnbuckle and hit Mark with a chair, it is the principle of the thing. Jay says that it will hit the fan in Fort Lauderdale. He guarantees that someone is going to get carried out.

Charlie Haas says that the Briscoes are backward ass chicken farmers. He wonders how many times they have to come back and tell their dad that they got their asses kicked. On March 31st, it is over. Shelton says that they are better than the Briscoes.

We go to commercial.
