LOTS OF WRESTLEMANIA UPDATES, WHERE MAIN EVENTS WILL BE PLACED, MIZ'S STATUS AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2012-03-14 10:16:26
As we mentioned on the Elite side of PWInsider.com on Monday, the primary reason that so few matches were announced thus far for Wrestlemania is that WWE wants to give time for Rock vs. John Cena, HHH vs. Undertaker and CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho as well as time for any promos and vignettes involving the Rock on the show.

The formatting of the show is still going on, but at one point last week, the talk was that Punk vs. Jericho would open the show, HHH vs. Undertaker would go on in the center of it and Rock vs. Cena would close it.

Miz is not slated for a match on the show, although his comments via social media and such guaranteeing he would be involved in the "main event" are likely teasing involvement in Rock vs. Cena.  There's been talk of having someone involved in the bout to set up the finish.

The updated lineup for the show as it currently stands:

*The Rock vs. John Cena.

*Triple H vs. Undertaker Hell in A Cell with Shawn Michaels as the special referee.

*WWE champion CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho.

*World champion Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus.

*WWE Intercontinental champion Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show.

*Randy Orton vs. Kane.

*David Otunga & Christian & Mark Henry & Alberto Del Rio & Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger vs. Santino Marella & Kofi Kingston & Great Khali & Ezekiel Jackson & R-Truth & another name to be announced.
