ALL TIME GREAT REFEREE DICK WOEHRLE PASSES AWAY

Dick Woehrle, the top referee for decades in the Northeastern United States and WWWF, passed away earlier today, PWInsider.com has learned. We have not heard a cause of death, but were told he had been ill of late.

Woerhle, who would have turned 70 on 4/1, refereed for the WWWF and WWF for decades, as well as just about every other major promotion and independent group you can think of. He was far and away one of the best and most memorable referees of all time.

Woerhle, a native of Deptford, NJ also promoted independent events in the late 1980s and early 1990s. I believe he last refereed at WrestleReunion 2 in Valley Forge, PA in 2005, although he had made some convention appearances after that event.

Our deepest condolences to Dick Woehrle's friends and family during this sad time.
