ROH TELEVISION REPORT: BLIND DESTINY; WE FIND OUT WHO THE OPPONENT FOR THE WORLD CHAMPION WILL BE DEPENDING ON WHO WINS ON FRIDAY

We begin this week’s show with a look back at last week’s match between Roderick Strong and Eddie Edwards to see who faces World Champion Davey Richards in Fort Lauderdale. We saw Roderick Strong get the pin only to have another referee come out and appear to restart the match to allow Eddie Edwards to pin Strong. Then Jim Cornette came out and showed that the official’s ruling is not a factor since he made a Triple Threat Match for Fort Lauderdale.

We are live on tape from Baltimore, Maryland and your announcers are Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness.

Kevin and Nigel talk about the Triple Threat Match that was announced last week. They mention that the title will be defended both nights and we go into the explanation of the Blind Destiny Challenge.

Jim Cornette says that they wanted a World Title match on both shows. Cornette questions how can you have a match on Saturday if you don’t know who is going to be the winner on Friday? The Blind Destiny Challenge was the result of the decision to make the main event for the Friday show a Triple Threat Match. Each person in the match on Friday has a match set up for Saturday. If they are the champion after Friday night, their match on Saturday will be for the World Title.

The opponent for the Saturday matches will be determined tonight. Jay Lethal faces Kenny King, Adam Cole faces Kevin Steen, and Kyle O’Reilly faces Michael Elgin.

We are back with comments from Kenny King and Jay Lethal about their chances in the Blind Destiny Challenge to see which man will face Roderick Strong on Saturday night in Fort Lauderdale.

Match Number One: Kenny King with Rhett Titus versus Jay Lethal in a Blind Destiny Qualifying Match to see who faces Roderick Strong on March 31st

Lethal charges at King but Kenny gets out of the way. King goes for the leg but Lethal fights him off. They lock up and go around the ring while locked up. They have a deadlock and Lethal removes his bandana. They lock up again and Lethal with a hammer lock but King with a Japanese arm drag and an arm drag or two into an arm bar.

Roderick Strong and Truth Martini come out to scout Roderick’s opponent for March 31st.

King with a slam and a slingshot leg drop for a near fall. King with an arm bar. Lethal with punches and a hip toss followed by a cartwheel into a drop kick. Lethal gets a near fall. King with a punch but Lethal with a kick and Lethal with a suplex and he gets a near fall.

Lethal with a forearm to the back followed by a chop. Lethal with a snap mare and a drop kick to the back of the head for a near fall. Lethal with a figure four head scissors to King. Lethal with a back heel kick and he sends King into the turnbuckles and chops him. King tries for a float over on an Irish whip but Lethal blocks it and then he hits a super kick.

Lethal goes up top but he is delayed a bit by Titus on the apron. They fight on the turnbuckles and King is pushed off. King with a handspring and then he hits a leaping round kick and both men are down.

Lethal and King with punches back and forth. It turns into forearms and a chop from Lethal. Lethal goes for the handspring move off the ropes but King with a drop kick. King with clotheslines. King with a pinwheel kick and then he hits a spinebuster for a near fall.

King goes over the top rope to the floor and drops Lethal on the top rope. Lethal recovers first and hits a springboard drop kick to King and King goes to the floor. Lethal sets for a dive to the floor but King gets back into the ring. Lethal with a firerman’s carry into a facebuster and then he calls for the Lethal Injection. Since you never call out a move and connect, King tries for a clothesline but Lethal counters with the Lethal Combination and he gets a near fall.

Lethal misses a clothesline and King with an O’Connor Roll and bridge, but Lethal counters with a bridge of his own and he gets the three count.

Winner: Jay Lethal

We go to commercial.

We are back with comments from Adam Cole and Kevin Steen about their match tonight with the winner facing Eddie Edwards on March 31st. Adam says that it doesn’t matter who he faces, he will not back down. Kevin talks about how Adam Cole will have to worry about rebuilding his career after tonight’s match. Kevin says that he is all about winning the title and making Jim Cornette lose his f***ing mind.

Match Number Two: Kevin Steen versus Adam Cole in a Blind Destiny Qualifying Match to see who faces Eddie Edwards on March 31st

Steen misses a punch and Cole with forearms but Steen with a forearm. Cole with more forearms but Steen with a forearm back. Cole with more forearms but Steen with a knee and chop. Cole with a drop kick and Cole with a dive that barely connects with Steen and it does some damage. They fight around the ring and Steen gets Cole on his shoulders and tosses him towards the ring post and he may have hit the post but the camera man did not get a shot of the impact, if any.

Steen sends Cole back into the ring and he kicks Cole. Steen slaps Cole in the midsection and follows it with a moonsault for a near fall. Steen with a chop and he comments on how impressive it was. Cole with punches but Steen with a head butt.

Steen with a chop and hard Irish whip. Steen with a charge into the corner but he runs into a boot. Cole comes off the turnbuckles but Steen catches him. Cole counters with a DDT and both men are down. Steen with a waist lock and Cole with a standing switch. Steen with a reversal. Cole with an enzuigiri followed by a running knee for a near fall.

Cole gets sent to the apron and Steen with a forearm as Cole tries to slingshot back into the ring. Steen gets Cole in the ropes and hits a DDT followed by the cannonball and he gets a near fall. Steen gets Cole up for the F-5 but Cole escapes. Cole with a kick to the arm and a super kick to the back of the head followed by a lungblower and he gets a near fall.

Cole with a super kick but Steen stays on his feet. Cole with a second one and then Steen spits in Cole’s face. Steen with an alley oop power bomb to Cole followed by a running lariat and then he hits the F-5 for the three count.

Winner: Kevin Steen

After the match, Steen wants to piledrive Cole and Eddie Edwards comes to the ring to stop Steen and check on his tag team partner as we go to commercial.

We are back and we go Inside ROH. We talk about the World Heavyweight Title Match on Friday night in Fort Lauderdale.

Roderick Strong says that Jim Cornette’s idea sucks and it sucks bad. Strong points out that he won the match last week.

Eddie says that the Triple Threat match was not called for. What Jim Cornette should have done was restart the match. Jim is thinking of the box office.

Roderick says that Eddie cannot beat Davey but he can. However, he can’t beat Davey with Eddie on his back. He has to take care of Eddie first before dealing with Davey.

Eddie says that there are two people trying to beat you up at any time. Anyone can win, and anyone can lose.

Roderick says that he has to get those two morons to beat the hell out of each other so he can beat on what is left.

We go to comments from Mike Bennett and Maria about his match with Lance Storm. Mike says that he didn’t know that he was so popular among the old folks. Lance is such a fan of his that he demanded a match against him. Mike tells Lance to come shut his mouth. Mike says that when he is done with Lance, he tells him that he will be done with him so fast that he will be able to get to the early bird dinner.

There are four main events on Saturday. We will have the three Blind Destiny Matches, with one for the World Title as well as the Briscoes against Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin for the World Tag Titles.

Mark Briscoe says that they weren’t going to go to Florida unless they got Haas and Benjamin. Jay says that after what they did to his brother, someone is getting carried out of Florida.

The All Night Xpress will face The Young Bucks in the Duel Dual on Friday and Saturday in Fort Lauderdale.

We are back and Davey Richards has joined Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness in their special corner of the DuBurns Arena.

Davey says that he will be facing the lesser of two evils with the winner of the match. He points out that Kyle is his training partner while Elgin is one of the strongest people in wrestling.

We go to comments from Kyle O’Reilly and Michael Elgin. Kyle says that friendships suffer when the World Title is on the line. If the match happens, he will not handle it like Eddie Edwards did. They will do it with honor and they will stay friends. He tells Elgin to go hard or go home.

Truth says that there is no way that Davey will have to face Kyle O’Reilly. Roderick tells Elgin to take care of Kyle because if something should go wrong on Friday, he wants a back up plan.

Match Number Three: Michael Elgin with Truth Martini versus Kyle O’Reilly in a Blind Destiny Qualifying Match to face Davey Richards on Saturday in Fort Lauderdale

They lock up and Elgin tosses Kyle to the mat. Kyle with a kick to the leg. Elgin blocks a kick and connects with knees and a forearm across the chest. Elgin with an Irish whip but Kyle floats over and then he tries to slide under Elgin but Michael blocks him. Elgin with a shoulder tackle.

Kyle tries for a hip toss but Elgin blocks it. He tries for snake eyes but Kyle escapes and he kicks Elgin in the chest. Elgin responds with chops. Elgin with a kick but Kyle with kicks to the chest. Elgin with forearms to O’Reilly followed by a forearm to the back.

Elgin with forearms to Kyle and Kyle responds with forearms of his own. Elgin knocks Kyle down and Kyle with a forearm. Michael with more forearns and then Kyle rolls into a cross arm breaker but Elgin rolls Kyle over and gets a near fall. Kyle with a series of kicks and a leg sweep.

Roderick Strong makes his way to ringside and Kyle gets distracted and Elgin hits a German suplex and Davey is not happy with the recent actions in the ring.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Elgin with a hard Irish whip and then Elgin runs into a boot and then Kyle avoids a charge into the corner and Kyle applies a guillotine choke but Elgin counters it into a uranage back breaker for a near fall.

Kyle and Michael with forearms and Elgin appears to have the upper hand. Kyle with more forearms and Elgin with an enzuigiri and both men are down. Elgin puts O’Reilly on the turnbuckles and chops him. Elgin sets for a rana but Kyle escapes and he crotches Elgin. Kyle with a super belly-to-back suplex and he hits it. Kyle gets a near fall.

Kyle with kicks to the chest but Elgin stays on his feet. Elgin charges at Kyle but Kyle drops down and Elgin bounces off the ropes and goes to the apron. Kyle with a kick and then he tries for a sunset flip power bomb to the floor but Elgin holds on to the ropes. Elgin misses a seated splash onto Kyle. Kyle with a belly-to-back suplex into the guardrails.

Kyle with a running drop kick off the apron to Elgin. Kyle goes up top and hits a missile drop kick for a near fall. Kyle with a rollup for a near fall. Kyle with an inside cradle but Elgin rolls through and he picks up Kyle for a suplex but Kyle with a knee to block it. Kyle with a tornado DDT into a guillotine but Elgin is able to keep Kyle from getting the hold locked in.

Elgin gets to his feet and hits a package uranage slam for a near fall. Elgin with a running clothesline into the corner followed by a second one. Kyle with a kick and then he hits a round kick and back heel kick into a Regalplex for a near fall. Kyle with a Crippler Crossface.

Elgin gets to his feet and he picks up Kyle but Kyle is able to lock in a guillotine choke but Strong gets on the apron and the referee is distracted. Kyle argues with the referee and that allow Elgin to hit a buckle bomb.

Richards goes after Strong while Elgin hits a spinning sit out power bomb for the three count.

Winner: Michael Elgin
