LOTS OF RING OF HONOR NEWS AND NOTES COMING OUT OF LAST NIGHT'S ANNIVERSARY SHOW

By Mike Johnson on 2012-03-05 13:19:48

I had a really good time at the ROH Tenth Anniversary Internet PPV last night, which you can order a replay of by clicking the above link.  There wasn't one bad match on the entire show, with the highlights including Adam Cole stepping up to the next level in the tag main event, Kevin Steen adding a different dimension to the CHIKARA storyline by getting into it with Eddie Kingston, Steen tormenting Davey Richards and "ruining" the end of the show, a nod to the end of the first-ever ROH show with Kyle O'Reilly, some really awesome tag wrestling and more.

Obviously, Kevin Steen vs. Davey Richards is going to be a major match for the company down the line.  I'm guessing we don't see it until Final Battle.

ROH has officially opened its own Baltimore office within the confines of WBFF, the FOX affiliate also owned by Sinclair Broadcasting.

Ring of Honor management has been very happy with their crowds and the atmosphere in Baltimore for the TV tapings of late.

The experiment of doing a lower priced iPPV show seems to have worked in terms of getting fans ordering the show as the early numbers are expected to be just a little lower than the orders of the Final Battle event in December.  We've gotten a lot of positive feedback from the quality of the show for the price point, although there were said to be some production issues with graphics and audio during the broadcast.  One reader described it as, "Improving but not at Lagana levels yet."

Among those visiting at the Anniversary show last night were Quiet Storm, Brian XL, Stephen DeAngelis, Marti Belle and Mega, as well as The Young  Bucks' father.

No major injuries coming out of the show.   Rhett Titus is still doing physical therapy on his knee three times a week and is working at getting it back to 100%.

Since we've had a few emails asking, Delirious was the driving force behind the CHIKARA-ROH angle.  The 4/28 double header is not planned as an iPPV as of now, but that could always change.

As of now, El Generico is not signed to a new deal by the company.  He's booked for Wrestlemania weekend currently.

A correction from my coverage last night - Shelton Benjamin has been defeated in ROH at least once before, during the awesome 8 man elimination bout in the Carolinas.

The next return to the Hammerstein Ballroom will be Sunday 6/24.

Maria Kannellis is insanely underrated in her role as the heel girlfriend of Mike Bennett.

The latest edition of ROH TV is now online for paid ringside members at www.rohwrestling.com.

Devin Cutting sent the following....Davey Richards will be appearing at 'SWE Retribution 3', which takes place on August 18th, 2012 in Huntingdon, England at Commemoration Hall.

Roderick Strong vs. the legendary Jushin "Thunder" Liger is set for 4/14 in Toronto as part of www.Wrestlereunion.com.

Obviously, next for the company are their annual Wrestlemania weekend iPPV events in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Friday 3/30 and Saturday 3/31.  For iPPV ordering information, click here.
