1 – THE BROTHERHOOD (Jeff Daniels & Josephus) vs. TWO ANONYMOUS JABRONIS

King joined Graham on commentary, comparing himself to Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, Lance Russell or Dave Brown, except he was better than those guys. He said Brotherhood were not worthy of being tag team champions unlike DKE. Brotherhood annihilated the jobbers. Daniels used a classic version of the Emerald Frosien for the pin. King excused himself to get ready for a non-existent match before Daniels got any ideas.

WINNERS: The Brotherhood in 1:30.

2 – MICHAEL BENTLEY vs. RYAN MITCHELL

Crowd didn’t seem to recognize Bentley. Mitchell got a respectable babyface pop. Bentley jumped the bell and went to town on him. RUDE kick to the face for a two count. Bentley corner splash went awry. Mitchell introduced Bentley’s head to the turnbuckles big time. Bentley was so looped that he fell out of the ring. Mitchell continued to on the outside, but Bentley used the tights to send Mitchell into the turnbuckle. Bentley rolled Mitchell back inside for a two count. Bentley paused for dramatic effect before delivering the legdrop. The crowd got behind Mitchell. Bentley cut off a fledging comeback and gave referee Joe Williams a piece of his mind. Bentley swaggered and ran his mouth. Mitchell reversed Bentley’s suplex attempt with a DDT. Mitchell on the attack with nice dropkicks and a powerslam for a long two count. Mitchell was laying in wait with his finisher, but Bentley slipped away and connected with a superkick for the three count.

WINNER: Bentley in 6 minutes.

Video packages aired to setup the “Win & Get In” SAW International Title Tournament match between Jon Michael Worthington and Jeremiah Plunkett. The Worthington half was a replay of the personality profile where he talked about the pivotal role Sting played his career and his desire to win the title for his daughter. Plunkett was in Deliverance land. He said that once he won the title, there would be all sorts of boys for him to make men out of. “Your pain is going to be my pleasure, heh, heh, heh.”

3 – “Win & Get In” Title Tournament Match #1- JON MICHAEL WORTHINGTON vs. JEREMIAH PLUNKETT

Worthington opened up with fast-paced high impact offense, then started to work on Plunkett’s arm. A pair of Stinger Splashes followed by a short arm clothesline had Plunkett beating a hasty retreat to the outside. Worthington stayed on his man, but ate the turnbuckle with one Stinger Splash too many. Back inside, Plunkett administered payback on Worthington’s shoulder. Plunkett with BIG headbutts and shoulder blocks to suck the life out of Worthington, but Worthington’s DDT out of nowhere halted the onslaught. Worthington clutched as his shoulder as came to his feet. Plunkett caught him with a Divorce Court and made an uncharacteristic trip to the top rope. His top rope elbow drop connected, but Worthington kicked out his nonchalant cover. Worthington hulked up. Uranage slam! Time for the Brentwood Breaker, but Plunkett nimbly countered with a Fujiwara armbar. Worthington came within inches of grabbing the bottom rope before Plunkett dragged him to midring and cranked his arm to a sick angle.

WINNER: Plunkett via submission in 6:20.

The Bail Jumper of the Week segment was hosted by “Bond Girl” Leah Hulan. Leah’s boobs were amazing. SAW needs to release a 3-D version. Leah used her favorite tactic, the heavy guilt trip. Leah said she had bonded Stinson out X 10 and she had missed court every time. Fool me once…

Rudy Charles was in the conference room of the A-Team World Headquarters in Manhattan. Charles said Paul Adams had gone through a lot of trouble to acquire 600 square feet for 35K per month. “That Paul Adams, he’s a heck of a guy.” Charles said that while Jesse Emerson was busy winning the SAW International Championship, he was going to be scouring the world for new talent. Charles took a call from Adams and was getting grief about being behind on his payments. Charles told Paul that he could trust old Rudy. Charles said he was going to think big by calling up his old buddy from TNA, Double J. Charles acted like Jarrett answered but didn’t remember him and told him to lose his number.

Video packages Emerson and Micah Taylor aired.

4 – “Win & Get In” SAW Title Tournament Match #2 – MICAH TAYLOR vs. JESSE EMERSON

The opening minutes saw Taylor give Emerson a wrestling lesson with some nifty work on the arm, including a swank top wristlock takedown. Emerson bulled Taylor into the corner and teed off on him. Taylor got his boot up as Emerson waded into the corner, and made a quick climb to the top rope, but Emerson upended him into the tree of woe. Emerson went after Taylor’s knee with a vengeance. The crowd gave Emerson a hearty “you suck” chant. Taylor was unable to put any weight on the knee. Emerson continued the punishment with a variation of the single leg crab. Taylor fired up. Taylor instinctively tried for a knee drop. Bad idea. Emerson went to the top rope. Also a bad idea that cost him a slam off the top ala Ric Flair. Taylor gave Emerson four corner clotheslines. Emerson spun him around and delivered four of his own. Taylor reversed again with six more. Emerson was on rubber leg street. Taylor hit a german suplex. Emerson rolled a shoulder at 2 and ¾. Emerson used trunks to send Taylor’s face into the turnbuckle. Emerson hit a Rockbottom and Taylor kicked out just before the three count. Emerson’s frustration was boiling over as he planted Taylor on the top turnbuckle. Emerson tried for a superplex, but Taylor fought it off and hit a top rope leg lariat to score the pin.

WINNER: Taylor in 7:40.

Emerson was a sore loser. He clipped Taylor’s knee and did a number on it with the ringpost. A posse of refs finally got Emerson to back off.

Afterthoughts: There’s a lot to like about the 2012 version of SAW. This was the first taping with the new set, new lighting and Tim Thomason at the production helm, and it made a world of difference. The only noticeable production glitch was some badly mixed audio here and there. The in ring was also improved with amped up intensity and workrate across the board. There wasn’t one bad match on the show. The opener was there to heat up DKE/Brotherhood. Unlike a lot of veterans, Daniels doesn’t let his move set get stale. His Emerald Frosien was a devastating thing of beauty. Bentley and Mitchell had a good match. Bentley is a fine addition to the roster. Semi-retirement doesn’t seem to have had any adverse effect on his game. I was surprised Graham didn’t do more to play up his credentials. Mitchell has made appeared sporadically for SAW and would be worthy of a push if he was regular… Plunkett vs. Worthington was a damn good match, much better than I hoped for. Worthington showed more promise as a babyface than he has previously. Kudos to SAW for booking clean finishes in the title tournament matches. Plunkett winning clean by submission was a cool surprise. I didn’t expect him to get out of the opening round…The wrestling in the main event was top notch, as is usually the case in a Taylor match. Emerson is an underrated brawler. Hell, he’s underrated period. The knock on him was that he couldn’t buy a facial expression, but not anymore. Emerson losing two consecutive matches to Taylor strikes me as strange booking…Adams selling A-Team to Charles has to be parody of Memphis’ wrestling’s swindle of the century -- Jerry Lawler and Larry Burton selling the USWA to Mark Selker when the promotion was on death’s door. Charles is so busy chasing his dream that he’s oblivious to the ugly realities of his situation, and he’s great in the role. His “conversation’ with Jarrett was hilarious. A big thumbs up for SAW’s first new episode of 2012. Showtime All-Star Wrestling - Episode 209
