BY THE NUMBERS PAY PER VIEW EDITION: LOOKING BACK AT AGAINST ALL ODDS AND ELIMINATION CHAMBER

By Richard Trionfo on 2012-02-26 09:42:28
Another month of pay per views are in the books with the World Wrestling Entertainment show that features what are usually the longest matches that are not called the Royal Rumble.

For the second month in a row, Impact Wrestling had ninety-one minutes of wrestling while World Wrestling Entertainment won the month, almost hitting the century mark. It is likely that WWE will hit triple digits with their next pay per view because it is the four hour Wrestlemania, but there are no guarantees because they only hit one hundred one minutes last year.

This was the first time that WWE won two months in a row since last April and May when Wrestlemania and Extreme Rules beat Lockdown and Sacrifice.

Last year, the Elimination Chamber matches were thirty-one and thirty-three minutes while the 2012 version clocked in a thirty-three and thirty-four minutes.

Last year’s Against All Odds had ninety-one minutes of wrestling, just like this year and the longest match on both shows was eighteen minutes. It is likely that the totals for this year’s show would have been higher if Jesse Sorensen had not gotten injured in the opening match.

Without a pay per view in March for World Wrestling Entertainment, it is possible that with a strong performance, Impact Wrestling can gain the overall lead. They are currently one hundred four minutes behind WWE, even though they have had two fewer pay per views during the course of this column.

Here are the times for the participants in the Raw Elimination Chamber match:

Kofi Kingston 25 minutes 39 seconds
Dolph Ziggler: 14 minutes 7 seconds
R Truth: 2 minutes 35 seconds
Miz: 19 minutes 6 seconds
Jericho: 9 minutes 11 seconds

The time for Chris Jericho was from his entry into the match until the referee first said that Jericho could not continue in the match.
