RING OF HONOR TELEVISION REPORT: CHAMPION VERSUS CHAMPION; COMMENTS FROM ALL NIGHT XPRESS; WHAT IS NEXT FOR KEVIN STEEN?

By Richard Trionfo on 2012-02-26 09:19:40
This week’s show starts off with a look back at last week’s main event segment with Charlie Haas setting up his match with Mark Briscoe and the subsequent chair shot by Haas and the reveal of Haas paying off ten thousand dollars in fines for two chair shots.

We are live on tape from Baltimore, Maryland and your announcers are Nigel McGuinness and Kevin Kelly.

Nigel and Kevin are in the ring while the fans in the front row bang on the guardrails, as is tradition. Nigel says that we are going to hear from the Briscoes later tonight.

We go to comments from the two teams in the opening tag match.

First we hear from the Young Bucks. Nick says that Caprice Coleman and Cedric Alexander are going to be stepping stones and a preview of what they are going to do to the Briscoes in New York on March 4th. Veda Scott is in the locker room with the Embassy. She mentions that if Jay Lethal beats Davey Richards on this week’s show that the match between Lethal and Tommaso Ciampa will be for the World Title at the Anniversary Show in New York. Ciampa says that on March 4th, he will take whatever gold Jay Lethal has around his waist. He challenges Jay to overachieve and be better than he has ever been before tonight to become the World Champion. Then on March 4th, Ciampa says that he will humble Jay down to being a boy. He will continue to be defeated and he will be the first and only undefeated World Champion in Ring of Honor history.

We are back and the Briscoes make their way to the ring to join Kevin Kelly. Kevin brings up their tag title match against the Young Bucks. Jay says that it will be Dem Boys versus Dem Ladyboys. The Briscoes are going to make the Bucks their personal bitches. Kevin asks about the House of Truth. Jay says that they got them a nice fat check for Five Thousand Dollars. Jay mentions that the check bounced higher than a basketball. They had plans for that money. He says that if Truth doesn’t have their money, the big man will be here to beat it out of Martini.

We are back with Inside ROH and this week, we talk about Kevin Steen, Roderick Strong, and the upcoming shows in Florida.

The first topic is the return of Kevin Steen to television. We see footage of the match and Jimmy Jacobs’ return to get revenge on Steen.

Jimmy Jacobs says that he thought that Kevin wanted the same thing that him and Steve wanted. They wanted redemption. When they tried to help Steen, he jumped them. After the piledriver at Final Battle, he learned a life lesson. Sometimes evil wins. Now it is time for him to become evil. He still tastes the sickness inside. When evil face evil, is there really a winner.

Steen says that hope is a funny thing. Jimmy Jacobs was cutting his own balls off to get back into Ring of Honor and then Jimmy was hoping that Steve Corino would have beaten him so Steen would go away forever. Now Jacobs is hoping that the match on March 4th will give him retribution for what has happened so far.

Steen says that he is hoping that Jimmy makes him bleed so Jacobs can realize that his future as a good little company man is bleak while his potential as somebody who lets the darkness shine through a little is unlimited.

Also on March 4th, Kenny King and Rhett Titus will face Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin.

Titus says that he says that he would be back in two months and he is ready to come back. Before they go for the tag titles and get revenge on the Young Bucks, they want to prove that they are the best. Kenny says that they are coming for the Bucks, but they want to prove that they are better than ever. They owe Charlie and Shelton one already.

It is time to talk about the shows on March 30th and 31st in Fort Lauderdale.

Next week on television, Eddie Edwards faces Roderick Strong to see who faces Davey Richards for the World Title on March 30th (assuming Davey can beat Jay Lethal later tonight on the show).

We go to the locker room where Roderick Strong is with Truth Martini and Michael Elgin. Truth mentions that through positive thoughts and the morality of their actions, Roderick Strong is being rewarded in his quest to regain the World Title.

Roderick says that he is pulling for Jay Lethal because even though he can beat both men, he can beat Jay that much easier. Next week, he will beat Eddie Edwards to get the title shot. Roderick mentions Eddie’s losing streak. Roderick says that he will have the title wrapped up by April 1st.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Veda Scott is with Eddie Edwards and Adam Cole. She asks Eddie for his pick in the match between Jay Lethal and Davey Richards. Eddie says that whatever he says, it will be hard not to sound like the bad guy. He wonders if Davey is focused on facing Lethal or is he focusing on the tag match on March 4th because if he is worried about that match, Davey could lose tonight.

Cole says that Kyle has been a very big distraction, but on March 4th, he will hold up his side of the bargain and will be better than Kyle. He also says that he has Eddie’s back next week against the House of Truth.

Kevin and Nigel talk about the main event and Kevin says that a lot of people are picking Lethal. Nigel says that might be wishful thinking on their part because it furthers their position. Maybe Lethal can catch an errant mistake.
