RING OF HONOR TELEVISION REPORT: STEEN IN ACTION; COLE AND EDWARDS; BRISCOES AND HAAS ESCALATE FEUD

We begin this week’s show with a look back at the Battle for Davey Richards’ Affection between Kyle O’Reilly and Eddie Edwards. Then we see the development of the team of Adam Cole and Eddie Edwards as they appear to be on a collision course with Davey Richards and Kyle O’Reilly. What will happen when the Future Wolves face American Shock?

We are live on tape from Baltimore, Maryland and your announcers are Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness.

Kevin and Nigel welcome us to the show and we see people banging on the guardrails. Kevin mentions the match on March 4th at the Anniversary Show when Davey Richards and Kyle O’Reilly face Adam Cole and Eddie Edwards.

Kevin says that there will be no main event because of Shelton Benjamin’s suspension that will prevent us from seeing the Young Bucks versus Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas.

Charlie Haas makes his way to the ring and Haas wants to know whose fault it is that there is no main event. He says that it is Ring of Honor, Jim Cornette, and Mark Briscoe’s fault. He says that Mark is a dummy because he ran into a steel chair. Haas says that he is not going to deny the fans the ability to watch the greatest wrestler in the company. He says that he will fight either Briscoe tonight because he is the outlaw and he is that damn good.

The Briscoes make their way to the ring.

Jay says that if Charlie Haas wants a piece of the Briscoes, there is nothing between them but air and opportunity so he tells him to leap.

Haas says that he doesn’t know which one he wants to fight tonight.

Jim Cornette makes his way to the ring and he demands a match tonight.

Charlie says that he will face Mark but only if Jay is handcuffed to the ring post. Jay is okay with that because he knows that Mark is going to win.

Jim says that he is not going to have a stroke over him. Jim says that he knows that Shelton is not in Maryland so he knows that this is not a set up. He says that if the Briscoes want the match and don’t care about the handcuffs, then we have a main event tonight. Jim storms out of the ring.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Steve Corino has joined Nigel and Kevin in the announce position.

We take a look back at what Kevin Steen did last week on the show.

Match Number One: Kevin Steen versus Andy Ridge

Steen with a clothesline during the handshake and then he punches and chops Ridge. Steen with a forearm and then he sends Ridge to the floor. Ridge charges at Steen and connects with a knee but he charges at him again and Steen catches Ridge and hits a fallaway slam into the guardrail. Steen chops Ridge as the battle continues around the ring.

Ridge gets a shot in but Steen with a forearm and then he sends Ridge back into the ring. Steen with a kick to the head. Ridge with a forearm and chop but Steen with a slap. Steen with a chop but Ridge with a kick.

Steen with an Irish whip and he runs into a boot from Ridge and Ridge leaps over Steen and kicks and connects with a forearm. Steen blocks a kick and connects with a head butt and chop. Ridge with a back heel kick and a running kick to the head. Ridge with kicks to the back and then he hits a running Yakuza kick into the corner. Ridge tries to slingshot back into the ring but Steen with an elbow and then he power bombs Ridge onto the apron.

Steen with an F-5 for the three count.

Winner: Kevin Steen

After the match, Steen picks up Ridge and tries for the package piledriver but the referee stops him. Steve Corino makes his way to the ring while Steen tries for the package piledriver after the referee leaves the ring. Corino gets in Steen’s face and then Jimmy Jacobs comes to the ring and he spears Steen and Steen and Jacobs exchange punches. Referees and security come to the ring to separate the two men.

Jacobs tells Steen that the piledriver will not keep him down. He has been beaten up, beaten down, and bled more than he can count, but he has never stopped fighting. Now that he is back and now that Steen is back, he wants the two most evil men in this company to fight. Jacobs says that he wants a match and a fight.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Veda Scott is in the locker room with Davey Richards and Kyle O’Reilly. She asks Davey about the match at the Tenth Anniversary Show. Davey says that Adam and Eddie are jumping in the deep end in their first match. He says that he is over the friendship crap and when he gets into the ring in New York, he sees four ankles to snap and four arms to break. Kyle says that he sees two heads to kick off. They will find out what type of guy Eddie Edwards is. He tells Adam not to expect loyalty from Eddie Edwards. Davey tells Adam and Eddie not to expect mercy from Team Ambition. Kyle says that Adam will find that out the hard way.

Match Number Two: Mike Mondo and Matt Taven versus Eddie Edwards and Adam Cole

Taven and Cole start things off and they lock up. Cole with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Cole with a hip toss but Taven kicks Cole off. Taven with an arm drag and Cole with a near fall with a rollup. Cole with a drop kick and then Mondo tags himself in. They lock up and Mondo with a rake of the eyes.

Mondo with a side head lock and then he punches Cole in the head. Mondo with a slam and then he punches Edwards and sends him off the apron. Cole puts Mondo in the turnbuckles and then Edwards with a Yakuza kick from the apron and then Cole and Edwards with stereo drop kicks to Mondo in the Tree of Woe.

Edwards tags in and Mondo kicks Edwards in the arm. Taven tags in and Edwards with chops in the corner. Taven with a rollup when he floats over on the Irish whip. Taven with a sunset flip but Edwards rolls through and kicks Taven. Mondo tags himself back in and he kicks Edwards in the corner.

Mondo with a suplex and then he rakes Edwards’ eyes. Mondo sends Edwards into the corner and he punches Edwards. Mondo with a leg drop for a near fall. Mondo with a rear chin lock into a reverse chin lock. Mondo with an Irish whip but Edwards with a chop followed by an elbow and a Codebreaker.

Taven tags in and he tries for a belly-to-back suplex but Edwards lands on his feet and he hits a rana. Cole is tagged in and he hits clotheslines on Taven and then a drop kick to Mondo. Cole with boots to a charging Taven and then he hits a cross body for a near fall. Cole knocks Mondo off the apron and then he hits an enzuigiri followed by a neck breaker on Taven for a near fall.

Taven and Mondo collide and Cole with a wrist clutch German suplex and bridge for the three count.

Winners: Adam Cole and Eddie Edwards

After the match, Taven and Mondo argue and Mondo slaps Taven and Taven slaps back. Mondo with a double underhook DDT.

We are back with Inside ROH with a look at Jay Lethal, the Tenth Anniversary Show, and The House of Truth versus The Briscoes.

We see highlights from last week’s Ten Thousand Dollar Challenge Match that was won by the House of Truth because of disqualification. Even though they lost, the Briscoes got the money. Truth says that the Briscoes were upset when he stopped payment on the check. They won the match but the Briscoes stole the checks. Roderick wonders if the check was good in the first place. Roderick tells the Briscoes to stop whining.

The Young Bucks talk about their match against the Briscoes at the Anniversary Show. It is all about the Young Bucks. They are coming for the pretty belt. They say that they will buy Mark some new teeth and then kick them down his throat.

Jay Lethal will face Tommaso Ciampa at the Anniversary Show, but before we get to New York, Jay Lethal faces Davey Richards for the Ring of Honor title next week on television.

Jay says that for the first time on television, he will make history with Davey Richards. He says that he wants to be part of the first Ring of Honor World Title change next week. Jay says that he has a different style than Davey has faced. Jay says that if he wins next week, he will defend the World Title against Ciampa in New York. Lethal says that he will end Ciampa’s undefeated streak. Jay says that Ciampa won’t beat him in New York.

Prince Nana says that this is the final step before they win gold in New York. Evans tells Nana that they can melt the belt but it won’t be worth the dividends being paid thanks to Ciampa. Ciampa says that Lethal needs to understand that he will strip him of his confidence and take his title. He will remain undefeated and the Dominant Male will bring the title back to Embassy Limited where it belongs.

Don’t forget the shows in Fort Lauderdale at the end of March.

We will find out some of the matches for the shows in Fort Lauderdale.

Match Number Three: Charlie Haas versus Mark Briscoe with Jay Briscoe handcuffed to the post

Haas goes after Mark but Mark avoids him and Mark with punches to Haas. Mark with a head butt but Haas with an Irish whip and Mark goes to the apron. Mark with a clothesline and Haas goes to the floor. Mark with a plancha onto Haas and Mark kicks Haas.

Mark sends Haas back into the ring and he gets a near fall. Mark with a kick to the head and then he goes up top for a moonsault but Haas pushes Mark to the floor. Haas with a boot to the head followed by a German suplex and he gets a near fall. Haas punches Briscoe and sends him into the corner with a hard Irish whip for a near fall. Haas with shoulders in the corner followed by a butterfly suplex for a near fall.

Haas with a waist lock but Mark with punches. Haas sends Mark over the top rope but Mark lands on the apron. Mark tries for a flip back into the ring but Haas gets his knee up. They fight to the floor and Haas with a back drop driver onto the guardrail.

Mark punches Haas and Haas with a back drop but Mark lands on his feet and he kicks Haas. Mark with thrusts to the throat followed by punches. Mark floats over and blocks a kick and hits a clothesline followed by a running drop kick that sends Haas into the turnbuckles. Mark gets a near fall.

Mark with a suplex and then he goes up top and hits an elbow drop but he can only get a near fall. Jay tells Mark something and he misses a charge into the corner and Haas with a belly-to-belly suplex and he tries for the Olympic Slam but Mark counters with a rollup for the three count.

Winner: Mark Briscoe

After the match, Haas gives Mark an Olympic Slam and then he takes the key from the referee before knocking the referee down. Haas with another Olympic Slam and then Haas gets a chair from ringside. Haas hits Mark in the head with the chair. Haas leaves the ring and he has the key.

Haas gives Kevin Kelly for Shelton’s fine and his fine. Haas says that they have played into his game because he has been planning that all week. Haas tells the Briscoes that they are dead.
