TNA sources were raving about New York Giant Brandon Jacobs' work at last night's taping, noting that he brought a real sense of excitement to the taping and "got it." Jacobs filmed segments for this Thursday's Impact as well as the 2/23 episode.
The New York Post featured a piece on Jacobs' appearance at this link. Jacobs commented, "This is first time I’ve ever done something like [wrestling]. I grew up loving the sport and have been big fans of these guys: Shawn Michaels, Owen and Bret Hart, Rey Mysterio Jr. [Hulk] Hogan, Sting, [Macho Man]. It’s definitely fun to watch."
There have been no changes in direction with the disappearance of Vince Russo. Some scripts were tweaked yesterday (which always happens at TV) but the company is still going forward the direction and plans that were originally laid out last October.
Meanwhile, Dave Lagana posted the following today: "10 years ago today - I took my first job in pro wrestling. Stephanie McMahon asked me if I wanted to start with WWE on a trial basis. That turned into this journey and ironic it's on Valentine's Day. Since wrestling always has been my love and I'm seemingly always having to put out for it!"
Several segments for Thursday's show were shot out of sequence yesterday.
Jeff Jarrett was placed back on the TNA website roster despite being "fired" in storyline.
Scheduled for Thursday's Impact:
*TNA champion Bobby Roode vs. Jeff Hardy in a No DQ match.
*Brandon Jacobs of the New York Giants to appear.
*James Storm vs. Bully Ray to determine the top contender to the TNA title.
*Zema Ion & TNA X-Division champion Austin Aries vs. Alex Shelley and Shannon Moore.
*10 Knockouts Battle Royal to name next top contender for the Knockouts title.
*The Lockdown main event is announced.
*Sting, Ric Flair. Gunner and Eric Bischoff appear.
