THE ORIGINAL PLAN FOR MIKE TYSON AT WRESTLEREUNION, FORMER WWE STAR WHO WAS GOING TO BE A SURPRISE AND CHANGED HIS MIND, DREAMER INJURY AND LOTS MORE WRESTLEREUNION NEWS AND NOTES

Some Misc. Notes from WrestleReunion weekend:

Mike Tyson may have been the happiest man on the planet when he was at the convention as he is a huge fan of the business and was going absolutely nuts over meeting Superstar Graham and at seeing people like Mick Foley. Tyson almost did a spot during the show where he would knock a heel out but the negotiations never ended with a deal. Tyson still came out to the ring with Foley to kick off the show and talk about how happy he was to be there, saying he was seeing his childhood come back to him.

Tommy Dreamer suffered a broken nose and his back was bothering him the next day following his Street Fight with Kevin Steen on Saturday.

Paul London and Brian Kendrick were both visiting over the course of the weekend.

John Morrison was backstage visiting at the Pro Wrestling Superstars event on Saturday. At one point, he agreed to come to the ring and be introduced to the audience but then changed his mind and didn't make the appearance.

Vader came out late for his appearance at the PWS show as the promotion was told he was ready for his cue and then it turned out that the person responsible for having him in position goofed.

In the strangest vendor exhibit award, a local insurance company that was there to sell indy promotions insurance for their show brought in Luchador Piloto Suicida for free photos. He ended up working the Reunion Rumble.

There was a lot of concern about trying to top last year's Rumble, which ended with Terry Funk vs. Roddy Piper, so they went in a different direction with lots of fun names and closing out with the Godfather winning. It was one of the most bizarre cast of characters ever, but was a fun, surreal experience. I actually cannot wait to get a DVD of the PWS show and I can't remember the last time I thought that about any show.

Dick Beyer was selling his autobiography and kept his mask on the entire time.

Konnan set up the deal to bring Mascarita Dorada and DEMUS 316 in to work the shows.

Mikey Whipwreck was openly telling people he was worried about the match at PWS as he hadn't teamed with Tajiri in a decade and Whipwreck is hurting bad these days, but the quality of work in the tag match was out of this world.

The convention itself received nothing but praise from those I spoke to who were there. The signing aspect was a very mellow, low key and relaxing session as it was held outdoors in the courtyard of the hotel and the weather was beyond beautiful. A lot of the indy guys who worked the shows this weekend that had never been to a convention were raving about the atmosphere and just having the chance to sit and pick the brains of some of the veterans that were there. It really was a special weekend.
