Welcome to Week 4 of Darren’s Win-Loss Records Column for the week of January 21-29, 2012. I have 96 more weeks to catch up to Rich’s By The Numbers. Congrats on reaching 100 columns. This week was delayed by a day due to the Royal Rumble. On this week’s Raw, the match between CM Punk & John Laurinaitis never started, so therefore is not part of the list. Unlike the last 2 times (Sheamus VS Miz and Cena VS Swagger) where a match that was scheduled ended up not happening due to one guy attacking the other, WWE.com reported those matches as No Contests. The match between Punk & Laurinaitis is not listed as such, so it won’t be listed here. Speaking of No Contests, the Falls Count Anywhere Match between Zack Ryder & Kane was listed as such, so both men receive Draws on their records. On NXT, the only thing of note was Heath Slater’s 22 match losing streak has ended (4 losses in 2012), as he was victorious over Trent Barreta. This was his 1st victory since July of 2011. On Superstars, the only thing of note was the return of WWE Diva’s Champion Beth Phoenix, giving her her 1st victory on the list. On Impact, we have our first main event with a decisive finish, as Hardy & Storm defeated Ray & Roode in a Tables Match. This was the first time since the beginning of my column that a TNA Impact did not end with a No Contest. Speaking of No Contests, we did not go through a Smackdown without one, as that was the official result of the Orton/Barrett Match, according to WWE.com. But, the main event did have a winner with Big Show by Count Out, making it the 1st time in 2 weeks that we have not had a main event end in a No Contest. We ended the week with the 1st WWE Pay-Per-View of the year, the Royal Rumble. The Royal Rumble match does not count towards the records, therefore Sheamus does not get a win, and the other 29 participants do not receive losses, but he will be acknowledged with an asterisk (*) next to his name. Due to the 8-Diva Tag Team Match, Natalya received her 1st win. Also, of note, Brodus Clay defeated Drew McIntyre, giving them the best and worst records in wrestling respectively. Also, John Cena & Kane both receive a Draw, due to their match ending in a Double Count Out, adding another No Contest to the count. We also had our 15th and 16th Title Matches of the month, as well as our 17th & 18th Gimmick Matches. Now without further ado, here are the Win-Loss Records for this week, followed by the results of the week that was. Thanks again to Mike for posting this and to all of you for reading it. Stay tuned for a Special Month in Review which will be posted tomorrow after Raw, since that will be the last event of January.
