Do you think the reason CM Punk's push was stopped is because of The Rock vs. John Cena at WM? It looked like Punk was going for home run with that storyline and I am sure there are few, if not many, in the company who were not going to be very happy seeing the Main Event of WM that was announced one year in advance won't matter much because Punk became hotter than Cena and maybe even The Rock. I just don't get it why Vince dropped the ball on one of the best storylines in years that could possibly have made him more money in long run than what Rock vs. Cena at WM (if this was the reason to stop Punk's push).
The worst part about reading your question is that I can't honestly say, "There is no way Vince would ever do something like that as he wants to make as much money as he can from all of his talent and shows". When you look at how he has handled things over the years, such as the Invasion angle, well I just can't say your scenario is baseless. With that said, I it was really more a case of Vince going back to doing what he feels comfortable with. When there was real doubt as to whether Punk would stay, Vince let him do his thing. Once he signed back up with the company, Vince returned to his comfort zone of booking. Unfortunately.
They never mention Mil Mascaras when they talk of this year's HOF inductions, but yet they have him listed already in the HOF section on the site!
They announced him first, last year! But in WWE the truth is what they say it is, not what it actually is. They made Edge the "first" inductee because they were selling tickets. It's that simple.
When/if do you think Rick Martel will get inducted into the Hall of Fame? With Edge going in already it would be nice to have another Canadian join him. He’s a 3 time WWE tag team champion and a former AWA world heavyweight champion. He took an absurd Model gimmick and made it something special (not to mention cementing him with eternal heel status). Sure he was one half of that dreadful WrestleMania VII blindfold match with Jake the Snake but who hasn’t had a bad match they’d like to never relive? What do you guys think? Martel ever going to get the call?
I would have no problem with him being in the midcard of a Hall of Fame class. He has a good enough track record, as you mentioned. I don't know that it will happen in 2012 but I think it will eventually.
Title change on a house show; boon to house shows or heat on tag belts or champs? What are the odds Evan Bourne is suspended again after tonight's rematch?
Wow, you were clairvoyant. It was obviously done due to Bourne's suspension but I liked that they did it. It never hurts to show the fans that a title change can happen on a house show. I don't think doing it once will change much, but it is still a good idea to make the shows seems special.
Being as NBC is currently only getting 6 million viewers at 9 and 3 million viewers at 10 on Monday do you think Raw would ever get a shot on the network?
At this time, no way. For one thing, you are talking about an average of 4.5 million viewers for the time period you mentioned. Raw doesn't always do that now (and wrestling brings in far less in advertising while it is cheaper to produce). But more importantly, as a broadcast network NBC doesn't want to air pro wrestling in prime time every week. There is a stigma attached to it that they just don't want placed on their network. If Raw was doing six or seven million viewers a week, maybe they would consider it but right now? No way.
